At the beginning of the eighth grade we fgund we had lost Rodney Dornbush and Clyde Kramme but gained Bonnie Brouwer and Percy Vander Tuig. We were: Don Davis, LeRoy Trower, Don Greenlee, Daryl Hofmeyer, Delbert Mathieson, Bob Mulder, Rocky Nicholson, Loren Zoet, Bonnie Brouwer, Barb Cassidy, Charles Fjeld, Jim Kammerer, John Smith, Burdette Menke, and Percy Vander Tuig. High School! We were ready for it and the first day we had Don Dav- is, Charles Forman, Don Greenlee, Daryl Hofmeyer, Delbert Mathieson, Bob Mulder, Rocky Nicholson, Carl Anderson, Charles Fjeld, Robert Hage- dorn, Larry Heemstra, Jim Kammerer, John Smith, LeRoy Trower,Harold Van Der Sloot, Bonnie Brouwer, Barb Cassidy, Judy Schultz, Betty Sheri- dan, Pat Wagner, Joan Rozendaal, Darlene Beerman, and Leona Steffens. From eighth grade days we had lost Loren Zoet, Percy Vander Tuig,Bur- dette Menke, but gained Carl Anderson, Robert Hagedorn, Larry Heemstra, Harold Van Der Sloot, Darlene Beerman, and Leona Steffens to bring our total to twenty-three, the largest class in our history. Our sophomore year was rather dull after the exciting initiation of our first year but we survived. In tenth grade we were: Bonnie Brou- wer, Barb Cassidy, Beverly Peterson Judy Schultz, Betty Sheridan, Pat Wagner, Darlene Beerman, Leona Steffens, Don Davis, Charles Forman, Don Greenlee, Daryl Hofmeyer, Bob Mulder, Rocky Nicholson, Delbert Mathie- son, Carl Anderson, Charles Fjeld, Robert Hagedorn, Larry Heemstra, Jim Kammerer, John Smith, LeRoy Trower, and Harold Van Der Sloot, We had lost Joan Rozendaal after our freshman year but Bev Petersen came back to us to fill the gap. This was the year of all the girls, eight of them. Now we were Juniors and upperclassmen. At the beginning of this new venture we discovered an old classmate, Pat Wagner, had left us for Omaha, Delbert Mathieson decided to go to school in the south and Charles Forman went north. In the middle of the junior year we welcom- ed Gary Kohlstedt, another quiet one. We now consisted of Carl Ander- son, Darlene Beerman, Bonnie Brouwer, Barb Cassidy, Don Davis, Charles Fjeld, Don Greenlee, Robert Hagedorn, Larry Heemstra, Daryl Hofmeyer, Jim Khmmerer, Bob Mulder, Rocky Nicholson, Judy Schultz, John Smith, Leona Steffens, Harold Van Der Sloot, LeRoy Trower, Betty Sheridan, Gary Kohlstedt, and Bev Petersen. Prom and Homecoming were the big events of this year with all of us working together for their success. Now we are seniors and on May 16, 1956, this history will come to an end. This year we have Leona Steffens, Bev Petersen, Barb Cassidy, Judith Schultz, Bonnie Davis, Don Davis, Bob Mulder, Harold Van Der Sloot, Larry Heemstra, Rocky Nicholson, Carl Anderson, and Gary Kohl- stedt. We've had fun through school and we thank the Juniors for the swell Prom this year. We started with 15 in kindergarten and will graduate with 17. Only five of the fifteen that started together are graduating together. SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On August 30, 1943 fifteen little demons came tripping through the gates of Primghar Grade School and up to the Kindergarten room patroll- ed by Miss Betty Flinders. This was the day of days and these little demons were: Barb Cassidy, Pat Wagner, Judy Schultz, Jeanette Hopkins, Bev Peterson, Clarisse Kamrath, Betty Peckham, Janet Hagenbucher, Betty Fortner, Don Davis, Gaylon Fear, Wayne Hardin, Daryl Hofmeyer, Delbert Mathieson and Rocky Nicholson. At the end of this year we lost Jean- ette Hopkins, Betty Ann Peckham, Betty Fortner, Gaylon Fear and Bev Peterson who was beginning her journey to other schools. As time flies the kindergarteners soon moved over to fill the lst grade rows in the same room. They were: Barb Cassidy, Don Davis, Charles Fjeld, Janet Hagenbucher, Wayne Hardin, Daryl Hofmeyer, Clar- isse Kamrath, Delbert Mathieson, Rocky Nicholson, Judy Schultz, Larry Smith, Pat Wagner, Betty Sheridan and Joan Rozendaal. In this grade we were Joined by Charles Fjeld, Larry Smith, Betty Sheridan, and Joan Rozendaal. Our teacher was still Betty Flinders. In second grade Gene Peterson greeted Barb Cassidy, Don Davis, Charles Fjeld, Charles Forman, Wayne Hardin, Daryl Hofmeyer, Jim Kam- merer, Delbert Mathieson, Rocky Nicholson, John Smith, Bob Smith, Larry Smith, Janet Hagenbucher, Betty Peckham, Joan Rozendaal, Judy Schultz, Betty Sheridan and Pat Wagner. At the beginning of this year we found we had lost Clarisse Kamrath. We had gained: Charles Forman, Betty Peckham, Jim Kammerer, John Smith, and Bob Smith. By the time third grade rolled around, Bob Smith and Larry Smith had left us for the second grade and Charles Forman and Betty Peckham had moved away. We were joined by Caroline Kelly, LeRoy Trower, Loren Zoet and Don Greenlee. Our teacher was Edna June Nelson and our class con- sisted of Don Davis, Wayne Hardin, Daryl Hofmeyer, Delbert Mathieson, Rocky Nicholson, Loren Zoet, Donnie Greenlee, Charles Fjeld, Jim Kam- merer, John Smith, LeRoy Trower, Barb Cassidy, Janet Hagenbucher, Joan Rozendaal, Judy Schultz, Betty Sheridan, Pat Wagner and Caroline Kelly. We were guided by Mona Tullis in fourth grade and found we had lost Janet Hagenbucher and Caroline Kelly to other schools but both their places were more than filled by the Hquietn Clyde Kramme and Rodney Dornbusch. The eighteen little fourth graders were: Don Davis, Rodney Dornbusch, Charles Fjeld, Don Greenlee, Wayne Hardin, Daryl Hofmeyer, Jim Kammerer, Delbert Mathieson, Rocky Nicholson, John Smith, LeRoy Trower, Clyde Kramme and Burdette Menke. The sixth grade room was soon filled with the well-behaved little demons and had Alycia Moran begging for mercy. We hadn't lost anybody but Charles Forman had returned to us bringing our count to twenty. We were: Donnie Davis, Rodney Dornbush, Charles Forman, Donnie Greenlee, Daryl Hofmeyer, Delbert Mathieson, Rocky Nicholson, Loren Zoet, Bruce Ewoldt, Barb Cassidy, Judy Schultz, Betty Sheridan, Pat Wagner, Joan Rozendaal, Charles Fjeld, Jim Kammerer, John Smith, LeRoy Trower, Clyde Kramme, and Burdette Menke. At last! Jr. High! This was a big year for we had our own basket- ball team and Lester Jipp and Gladys Pike to guide us. We lost Bruce Ewoldt but his loss was recovered in the middle of the year when we gained the curly-headed Bob Mulder. Lab tomorrow and he for 3rd time and threatens to throw out break- Rocky gets up. Mr. Clemens awakens son, to do daily push-ups. Leona's up. A11 the farmers doing chores even Leona Mae. Harold alias HCootsH wonders what he can do today, on another one of his Hcutsu. Cow Bob Mr. Don Ben the Mr. Bev kicks Rocky. Rocky kicks cow. finishes chores except for polishing his Devine arises to practice his hook shots G. gets up to walk the floor with little' still looking for '49 white Mercury, but barn with the cow. Devine goes home to eat breakfast. gets home from baby-sitting. boots. brother John. Rocky's home safe in John arrives home from Ames. Late date! Chuck arrives home from Primghar. Later date! Mr. Devine unlocks prison doors. Early birds arrive to make up time. Barb gets up! Rocky starts flight to school. Seniors begin to gather at study hall windows. Mr. Clemens politely asks for HSilence in the study halln. Don G. arrives. Seniors make it to English room. Mr. Hoschler yells, HClear the hallsn. Barb made it. Seniors are shocked at Hdo's and don'ts of the dayn. DH pacing floor at Schubert's waiting for Dutch to come and re- lieve him. Mr. Hoschler tells one of his legends. DH arrives with admit slip. Mr. Hoschler warns Seniors for 3rd time to be quiet or 3,000 words New seating arrangement in the back row. Day's lesson starts. Jake attempts to fix blower. Lesson finished. Seniors study Economics. Jake fixes blower.
