The parade at 12:30 was very enioyable. With so many beautiful floats it was a difficult task to pick the winners, which were Thespians, first, Pep Club, second, and Juniors, third. Our victory 32-O, over the Montpelier Bears, the outstanding routine by the Baton Corps and lndianettes at half-time, the presentation of our Queen, Tayna Palmer, her attendants Pauline Hodges and JoLynn Petersen, and finally, the lovely dance made our Homecoming The Best Dream of All, and one we will not soon forget. 3, tw s ..,,, ' nv K , H - z . .xg - X ' fv .... , - - xmiii 551 -an' 'if' V-S: i :E wa, . lm 12153 .'i'WYfmE5QL::-in vu .- 1 i Y 'T ' 1 ,,,. Ward Mrs. Johnson has been serving our su- perintendents for quite a few years. We have found her to be helpful in supplying our needs as well as the needs of the en- tire school district. Own Sup ' Harry Emerson Fosdick has said, He who chooses the beginning of a road chooses the place it leads to. High School is a point of beginning for man-y roads-roads of happiness, discontent, success, failure, mediocrity, and others have a beginning here. Here are found many courses of learning from which life's journey might be safely and wisely begun. Here, too, are formed many of the habits which become patterns of behavior in study, work and play. Choices are important at the beginning of these roads, and wise choices are important as the iourney progresses, because, The road passes on through the long afternoon and stretches away through the night. Good planning and choosing at the begin- ning, good habits of learning and behavior properly established, the will to succeed wisely cultivated-these properly balanced and blend- ed with a dash of perseverance will carry you along the road to a future that is pleasant and rewarding. Sincere best wishes, William G. Ward l Own Pnincipal It is my sincere belief that Preston High School is a school to be proud of. The students are some of the finest in the state of Idaho. Therefore, I deem it a pleasure to work with you. My desire is to continue to make Preston High a school to be remembered for its accom- plishments and achievement. This year has been a co-operative venture of students and faculty helping to make school life more enjoyable and worthwhile. Students, you have the talent and abilities, the school and faculty have given you equip- ment to make for you a better life. My wish is for your success in the future in whatever endeavors you may be in. Best wishes, Elmo Keller Elmo Keller Mrs, Sylvia Peterborg, secretary to Mr. Keller, has been with us for about a year and a half. Her willingness to help the students of Preston High is greatly ap- preciated. Left to right: Ted Steers, Dean Smith, Dr. Orvid Cutler, Phenoi H. Edgely, Superintendent William G. Ward, Sarah Johnson Robert Hull., titttiwitftcztttittitttsittiiittirittttifitt Our school board usually meets the second Monday of each month. During these meetings they discuss the problems of the entire school district. They devote a great deal ot their time in helping to solve many of the problems of our own school. Student council is the law-making body of Preston High School. The students which make up the council are the executive committee, the presidents of the three classes and the presidents ot the various organizations. It is conducted under Parliamentary Procedure and is very well organized. Student Council makes rules, organizes activities, and teaches better citizen- ship to the students. ln Student Council, democracy is in action as the students make motions to improve our school. Each member does his best to represent our school well. Student Court enforces the rules of our school. lt is the iob of Student Court to see that the students do not take advantage of the laws that are made by the Student Council and the administration. EIU O We, the graduating class of 1964, can reflect upon three exciting years at Pres- ton High. The protective walls and long impres- sive halls fill us seniors with pride and admiration, knowledge and understand- ing. Ours has been a united class. We have shared ioys, disappointments and success. We began our high school days with ambition. Our Sophomore as- sembly and hop was a most successful event. Our homecoming float received third place, a triumph for sophomores. A swimming party at Downetta was a reward for our efforts. As Upperclassmen, our assembly and Junior Prom, which was entitled, Serenade, took its rightful place among the top Junior proms and assemblies in the school's history. Practice makes perfect? Sure, Pres. Keep working on it. You have to ,study to, bezalgood Vfstudent, 35 TBYHH wen knows. we-fe7fL MGC' . .- Now, our senior year, we have topped our high school memories by presenting our last class assembly, our senior re- view and our beautiful Senior Prom. And, of course, we cannot forget our Senior Sneak! Our Senior athletes have added much luster to the past achievements in the sports program. But now, the time has come when the dances, assemblies and games must be put aside with other lingering memories of the past. W As the Seniors of 1964 don caps and gowns and march down the aisle and into the future, we will long remember the strain of our school songs, Our Spirit ls Our Might. 35 'X 1 36 f N J Q M M s,,v. Officers, Anna Beth Stocks, secretary, Sam Alba, preside-nt, Morris Poole, vice president, and Diana Maughan, social manager, organizing another new proiect. Tl1eAmbitimClla1uiol,'66 The Sophomore class has entered their high school days as every other Sophomore class in the past- ambitious and full of enthusiasm. The class, ready, willing, and able to make a good year, started out by building a float for Homecoming. The theme was Sophomore-s' Dream. lt was a good try and at least a start. In the middle of the year Social Manager Brett Hawkes left old P.H.S. and also left the Sophomores without a Social Manager. The problem was quickly solved by an energetic little gal named Diana Maughan, who carried on as a very successful officer. Selling popcorn at home games, ice cream during the district basketball tournaments, and sponsoring a casual party dance, the Sophomores added to their treasury and their prestige. ' The class of '66 had a very good year and are looking forward to the two busy years to come.
