We have finished the prescribed.course with pride and distinction and now we are facing a new day where greater re- sponsibilities lie ahead. '. Graduation from High School marks a great and important a- chievement in our lives. One of the many things it has taught us is that we did not reach this goal alone. Without our Kind teachers who have so patiently guided us, we would not be grad- uates. Their understanding, their patience, and their interest, has been an inspiration. We want to assure them that we are going to do our best in the years that lie ahead. To our parents, we want to express our deepest gratitude for their endless devotion, encouragement and wise guidance. All through our high school days our parents have been so patient and understanding and for this we are truly grateful. As for our debt, we know we can never repay you, but we sincerely pro- mise that We shall apply all that we have learned at Preston High School in such a way that you will rejoice with us. To The Board of Education, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for the educational privileges we have been able to en- jo , We trust that, because of this we will be better citizens ang more deeply worthy of your investment in us. The ideals we have striven to attain will ever lie before us and we will continue to strive for the things that are fine and worthv as we each go his own way. if kr? 1 r X 5 -w DEDICATION The Senior Class of 1950 wish to dedicate this Yearbook to our Superintendent of buildings, Mr. Herman Hohenfeldt. He has served many years as janitor of Preston High School and has rendered unfailing service to all of its members. When ever a field trip is to be taken, Mr. Hohenfeldt is willing and ready to provide the transportation. He keeps our halls and gym neat and clean. Even though he is busy with his tasks about the school he is never to busy to lend a helping hand to a teacher or student when requested. Mr. Hohenfeldt is cheerful and friendly, meeting each new day with a smile and a bright WGood Morningn to all. We the Senior Class of l95O wish to take this opportunity to ex- press our deep appreciation for everything he has done for each of us. Mr. Hohenfeldt, may your future life be filled with more and more happiness. The team was led from the field by their very reliable captain, David Rutkowski. y David besides being captain, led the team in scoring for the season with 113 points. He was followed by Henry Kulikowski with 8h points respectively. The boys look forward to a better season next year. Our record for the season is: Wins 2 Losses lb . I s GIRIS INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP First row, sitting: I. Sprague, H. Worobey, A. DuMond Standing: J. Lee, J. Ellicks, J. Kelly, M. Westga e, Kulnkowski. INTRAMURALS In our first year of initiation into the field of intramural athletics we had a surprising turn out. Much to the pleasure of everyone the boy's basketball championship was won by the Junior Class. The girl's basketball championship was won by the Wmighty mites' of the eighth grade. The boys foul shooting was won by Wilbur Smith and the girls foul shooting by Kathryn Skurski. These contestants then represented the school in the Hawley Tournament. We still have intramural volleyball, softball and the probability of shuffleboard and checkers yet to be played in our intramural program. Mr. Ritchie has worked untiringly with the sports events in Preston High School. The intramurgl games have created good sportmanship among the students.
