Class History Freshman Year As the freshman class of 1941 we started out with th1rty pupils but as the xears went bs the number decreased We were 1n1t1ated on the afternoon of October 25 1941 The sopho mores chose this day o that we wouldn t hawe any reason for not being there fsuch as a snow stormy That wear we lost Thomas Leonard Loulse Jenmngs and Mary Feduck Our class officers were president George Sherman uce president Bettv Skur ki secretary Kathryn Arnoldine treasurer Joseph LaHoda Sophomore 1 em As freshmen we were just as green as could be but as sophomores we were Uettlng a httle riper We took a h1nt from the sophomores before us and 1n1t1ated the freshmen on October 30 A few of us were in the succe sful operetta The Slip of a Sllpper Jack Keegan and Eugene Madden stayed horre to work on the farm Edna Keene rroxed to Carbondal Ellnor Dans and Edward Nloxak stepped 1nto their places with our class Our class officers were president Betty Skurskl X109 presldent George Sherman secretary Kathryn ATHOld1n8 treasurer Calun Lepro Jumor Year We ordered our rings 1n the Spring so that we would recelxe them when we came back to school the following year We were delighted to find that Mae Havrllack had enrolled ln our class Bettv Skurski secret xry Ruth Sherman tretsurer Joseph LaHoda Senwr 1 ear When we returned to Preston for our list year we were sorry to see that Edith Myer and Rov Bishop didn t return But we gladly welcomed LOIS Williams John Lex chak Robert Carpenter and Agnes Smith Mr Gelatt our cience and mathematics teacher was transferred to Thompson Miss Curtis replaced him Nllss McCorm1ck also left Miss Tewksburx IS te lchlng English and latin in her place We recelx ed our rlngs IH September For our flrst actiuty we held a senior dance which was quite a succe s We expect to haxe a drama 1n the Spring Our class officers president Joseph LaHoda vice president Thomas Tullv secretary Kathrvn Arnoldme treasurer Rose Todd MEMORIES .
