Spirited Week Starts Off Royally Junior Class Presidenr Michelle Droodworer starred off the exciting week of Homecoming by emceeing the Coronation on Monday, October 1. 1984. Although much of the ceremony was traditional, the lively pep tolk delivered by former student Tom Duxbury was dynamic and different. The large crowd of local fans in attendance wos set in morion, and no one seemed to mind that the ceremony rook a bit longer than usual. Once rhe new King ond Queen were crowned, there wos rhe crush of well wishers to deal with. But even that wos token in stride. The candidates mode it bock into rhe gym in record time for court pictures, ond rhe exciting week hod begun in grand fashion. No one would find ony reason to think rhe rest of the week ordinary either. Aside from special dress-up doys during rhe school day, there wos rhe holl decorating. On Friday, only two class hours met. Class meetings followed, and students then hod only until 2:45 to get everything ready for rhe big parade. The detoured main street mode for o different parade route, bur oil went well.
