All the News Fit to Print Time seemed to be rhe elusive element for the Dluejoy Bugle Staff. With four issues to get written, posted up, ond printed, there just never seemed to be enough of it. Between that ond the numerous staff changes that occurred during this year, it wos omozing that the issues got out of oil. But in the end, they were sold and very populor with the student body. Recording Year Kept Staff Busy Ups ond downs describe rhe efforts to pur our rhe yearbook this foil. Because year- book soles hove been down in recent yeors. o new plan was instituted to set the price of the book exactly or cost. After o successful od campaign brought in $2,100, order blanks were distributed to rhe stu- dent body for subscribing to the book. The order was official with o $5 down pay- ment, ond rhe final price set based on rhe number sold. For the first time installment poyment options were also offered. As o result, o much larger number of books was sold. The staff hod trouble getting organiz- ed to finish their poges though. The first deadline was 2 months lore in getting to rhe publishing plant, which threatened to delay delivery of the book. For rhe first rime, oil copy for the yearbook was word- processed on the school's computers, which did help the revision process immensely. YEARBOOK STAFF (Righr): Froor Row — Kevin Sime. Active People Get It Done Decisions were often required of the Stu- dent Council, ond its members were there to toke the necessary action. Under the ad- visorship of Mr. Hoeffner, the members rook charge of the Homecoming activities, sponsored severol ofrer-gome student donees, ond tried to raise the necessary funds for their orgonizorion. Meerings were held during the school year on o regular bosis, rotating meeting rimes through the class hours. An enlarged radio show cost prepared o weekly broadcast of the school's events. Broadcasts were over Radio station KFIL in Preston each Saturday morning, ond large local audiences were tuned in. Scripts were written in outline form by the show's pro- ducer, Mr. O'Reilly, ond filled in with specifics by the individual commentators.
