Always Learning, Always Growing, Since rhe Presron-Founroin School Disrricr is always reaching our ro improve in academics, they hired three new teachers and purchased eight computers, making possible for o computer class ro be offered. Also, rhe vocational secretaries were moved ro the high school ond a new ISS room wos established. Football proved ro be o ' long distance reaching out to the Wykoff School District. Events Make Year Memorable In the Preston-Founrain School District, by for the biggest news of the year was the fire that destroyed the entire bus fleer on June 12, 1983. Starred accidentally when leaking gasoline hit o hot trouble light, flames spread quickly. The entire building containing oil of Preston-Founrain's buses was soon engulfed. Repairs were mode over the summer to buses that could be fixed, ond the rest were either replaced with new buses or temporary looners. As o result, school did begin on rime in the foil. Students watched each night os it seemed the casualty list of U.S. Marines grew larger, ond new efforts were mode to sign o ceasefire. Flogs flew at holf-most in the Preston area in the weeks following the terrorist bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon on Oc- tober 23, 1983.
