Mathematics and Science The mathematics department of PHS triggers calculated desires to achieve. Courses in elementary al- gebra and geometry were fol- lowed bv advanced math and anal- ysis. The freshmen were introduced to algebra, while the sophomores struggle with post- ulates and theorems and relating them to proofs. Higher algebra is a combination of all your algebra and geometry knowledge. Analy- sis is the most advanced and few- est membered class. Striving forward in the complex work of today, Preston’s science department keeps the pace. Chemistry class learned the iden- tification of the elements and the problems of molar volume, mo- lecular weights and formulas. Physics class proves their knowl- edge of the sciences through ex- periments. Biology students study many things from botany, the cell, human anatomy, physiology and zoology. The math and science department is an important part of the cur- riculum at PHS. It is widely learned to remain attuned with the many achievements of today. AUDREY CRITZ-B.S. Business and The Arts The manual arts and agriculture classes pursued their way through another year of preparing stu- dents for industrial-arts careers. The home economics classes ex- perimented in the arts of food preparation, sewing, family rela- tionships, and many other things during the year. Interested students became skilled in business methods and office practices. The Preston music department added many musical enjoyments with their numerous perform- ances throughout the year. The art department offered many new and exciting creations and ideas with the help of their new teacher, Mr. Post. Many of their projects were on display in the lunchroom during the year. Successful completion of driver’s training course enabled soph- omores to obtain their driver’s licenses.
