The Thespians' organization grew in numbers this year. A debate team was added to our school. They represented us in meets at Houston and Albert Lea. This years one-Act play, “Of Poems, Youth, and Spring” placed first at the District One competition. At the Regional Contest they were placed as alternate to the state com- petition. Long hours of work involving many proportion wheels, pictures, rulers, words, typewriter keep, and dummies (or dummy copies) have been done by the various members of the Bluejay Bugle newspaper staff and Jayette yearbook. Because of their accomplishments the editors, co-editors, typists and writers and even photographers are members of this honorary society. Quill and Scroll is a national organi- zation established to encourage writing and publications. 20 Ruth Ellen and Noel exercise literary talent.

With endless rehearsals and straining to memorize those lines, the play “More Than Welcome” was successfully given under the direction of Mr. O’Rielly. As the curtain opens we find Bea Preminger, the widow mother of twin boys and the new Welcome Wagon Lady for Blue Shores. With the boys and the job she is constantly on the go.
