Each year the band has numerous outside activities such as marching for parades at and around Preston, playing and marching for the Memorial Day services and giving concerts every Wednesday night in the sum- mer. Annual Staff The Class of '56 is renewing the idea of pub- lishing an annual. Due to the small size of the class of '55 and being they went to Chicago for their senior skip day, they did not have a year- book. At the beginning of our school year sugges- tions for the name of the annual were submitted to the Student Council. The Blue Revue , en- tered by Sigrud Halverson, is now the permanent name of our yearbook. We the editors wish to apologize to anyone whose name is misspelled. In case you have been wondering, The Electrons is the Preston High School science club. Officers are: Bob Cook, President; Lud Gartner, Vice- President; Margaret Gartner, Secre- tary-Treasurer; and Mr. Slostad, ad- visor. We are affiliated with the Science Clubs of America. Our pin is a small sterling silver shield. Meetings are held at 4; 00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month and 7:00 p.m. on the last Wednesday of each month. The aims of the club are to increase knowledge of science, to learn to better our skills in science, and to understand the importance of science in our modern daily living. Each member has a pro- ject in some field of science such as, biology, physics, or chemistry. Many of the members have worked on elec- tronics, photography, and the telephone. The Electrons have attended fairs at Winona and Rochester to see experi- ments in short-wave radio, biology, physics, chemistry, and all other phases of science. This year's fair will be held in Rochester. FIRST ROW: Lila Drogemuller, Mary Cleveland, Sharon Sikkink, Elaine Cleveland. The Juniors, under the co-leadership of Kenny Alderman and Bob Maust, were hosts to the Seniors. Under the guidance of Miss Ulmenand Mr. Wildegrube the Juniors selected the theme Blue Moon . The gym was transformed into a gay and sprightly park for the oc- casion. The ceiling was converted into a vivid sky. The walls were a series of blended blue colors that evolved from deep indigo at the bottom to a light blue as they drew closer to the silver harvest moon in the south east corner. The east wall became a star filled sky. Nestled under the star s was a colorful flower garden containing red, white, and pink roses. The stage was recast as a rose garden enclosed with a white picket fence. Tables, with lily of the valley centerpieces, encircled the floor. In the center of the floor, surrounded by a creeping vine was a bubbling fountain of youth. The strains of Johnny Roberts' orchestra floated over the set- ting to complete the mood. to 1955 Blue Moon The powder room, which was a highlight for the girls, was the band- room. The room gave forth a rare harmonious effect with its blend of light blue crepe paper and red and pink roses. Dressing tables and mir- rors added to the symmetry of the room. The waitresses and waiters were chosen from the Sophomore class. Joyce Prinsen, Dana Lahmers, Jane Hovelson, Marilyn Kolenbrander, DavidSikkink, Dennis Culver, Larry Anderson, and Wayne Dreier. The girls wore white dresses with blue organdie aprons. The boys wore navy blue pants, white shirts and navy blue ties. The dance was scheduled for 9 o'clock in the evening and brought to a conclusion at 1 o'clock. There was a delightful cafeteria lunch prepared for us by our mothers. A wonderful evening was enjoyed by all. 4i With This We Leave You I, KENNY ALDERMAN, do hereby will and bequeath my athletic ability to Jerry Rindels.
