White Egg and White Plate in White Room Oil by Mary MoLens '72 Loneliness What is loneliness? Unless you've experienced it, then you'll never know. You cry out, no one hears - no one wants to know - no one wants to listen. You're there and that's all . . . In the midst of people no one sees you. No one wants to see you. Loneliness is like a big black, no ending eternity. No way out unless that someone comes by and reaches out to you. That someone who wants you, needs you, loves you. The Only Game in Town I wonder where pidgeons go when there's no place to be, I wonder where dogs sleep to hide from insecure masters, And if man has found his place to hide, To lie in at night for fear of being found, And to cover at day to hide from his Master. Foolish man, Look around and see - The birds of the air fly wildly in praise See where the animals go - They're all in front of you. Fear is a useless emptiness and a waste of time. People are born to love. It takes time, A great deal of patience And a heart able to take pains the body can't But is is the only game in town.
