As we walked on down the street we passed Dick Mercord's Hardware Store H seemed to be doing very well After bwing out the other store run by his father he built a chain of them across the U S and Steve Beying is said to be his happiest clerk We were surprised to see a sign on a light post, reading Vote Republican Larry Olson for Congressman -John Rohl for Assemblyman Cn our way dmm the street, we saw a bridge under construction The engineer was none other than Vernon Meier He seemed to be doing very well telling Ron Nelson to get busyl' Whlle we strolled up the hill, we decided to stop in at the high school and see if anything had changed Sure enough Midge Hildebrandt V88 i11S121'11017iHS 9- group of g:Lr1s on how to do push ups It seems as though she's been filling in as physical education teacher for three months. Cathie Maman had to retire after she fell from a ladder She was trying to place the ball into the basket during one of the basketball games which she revised a bit well, we decided we had better get baclf to our ship, so we took another taxi into the country It was a funny looking taxi. and we discovered why when we saw It had grown so fond of many riders that nothing else could quite satisfy it Cn our way to the ship we saw a gigantic dairy farm Tom said it was owned by our old friend Tootie Ruppert She really used her money wisely and had a very profitable business going Out in one of the fields we saw Ralph Murphy driving a tractor Pee Wee Sundby was building muscles by pitching hay onto the wagon behind the tractor reached our ship then, and after thanking Tom fand paying himl we took off for home Before we had gone far, we heard a horn Right behind us, trying to pass as always, was Ray Mauleg, in a Ford Space Ship of his own Dennis Tirmn was his co-pilot and sometimes Ray even lets him steer the space ship! Well, we finally reached the moon, and after dropping Helen out, I returned to the apartment house The nice door mn let me in and I retired to nv room Oh d1d I mention that bashful Jim Baker likes being the door man because that way he doesn't have to talk to the people who frighten him the most GIRISI Merc ord 's Hardware Prescott , Wisconsln Melgard Monument Co River Falls, Wlsconsin 27 . e 9 I O 0 ' e ,, II. 0 I that the driver was Tom Laney. enior Class Prophecy One fine day in 1980, I, Lucy Richmond, now a resident of the Green Cheese Apartment House on the moon, decided to take a ride in my dual-controlled space ship, and as a last resort called on my roomnate, Helen Campbell, retired member of Comptometers' Inc., to go along. Somehow, we got off course, but we decided to keep going, just for kicks. Soon we came to the planet Mars, where we caught a glimpse of Judie Pinks, a once famous hair stylist. She was trying to help the poor Martian women grow hair on their little, purple heads, and was receiving assistance from Joyce Fox, who had decided that a job at SMEAD'S was not what she wanted after all. After seeing them, we decided to look around and see who else might be there. I needed fuel for nv rocket and, drawing into the nearest Super-Sonic Fuel Station, we were really surprised to see that the comer was Gene Lindholm, who was giving out purple stamps. When 1 billion books of these stamps were accumulated, it would enable you to get your mm flying saucer. We took off again, but unfortunately there was a 100 mile an hour speed limit there! And since our ship was doing all of 101, we were stopped by Jack Lindstrcm, a member of the Mars Police Force I-Ie took us to the Supreme Martian Leader who was none other than Darwin Fogerty, an ex school teacher from P H S on the planet Earth He had a couple of tough judges, Earl Wilbur and Lloyd Marek They sure looked mean, but since we were their old classmates and WGIEN DRIVERS, they only gave us a warning Relieved to get off so easily, we left Mars in a hurry mr next stop was the planet Earth We landed in a corn field and when the fanner, Jerome Maier, came rushing out, we discovered it was one of his 1,000 acre fields Jerome was very glad to see us though, fhall and he told us that Jim Beskar was in a partnership deal with Dean Fox, farming and repairing old rocket ships in their spare time We took a taxi on into town and from there we decided to go by foot and see what had changed since we left Prescott in f9 We were greatly shocked to see an old classmate, Dennis Mausolf, being carried into the Schroeder Emergency Hospital, erected in honor of the late Barbara Schroeder We followed him in and there sat Joanne Rohl, Head Nurse of the entire place, with her efficient staff of R N 's They were Marlene Neubauer, Shirley Lilley, and Mary Ann Stark Mary Ann has been depressed since the Republicams consistent losing battle in all elections, and needed something to keep her busy We left the hospital and walked on down the street We passed Jim Mostfs Barber Shop where we saw a sign reading 'GEL' YOUR SUPER DUPER HAIR CUTS HEREI' We heard that he specializes in Duck tails We were hungry then, ss we stopped in at the next restaurant, which happened to be owned by Pat fSternD Gerbozy It seems she ran the Steamboat Inn out of business because she d:ldn't have to pay her employees Of course, they were all the Gerbozy children At one end of town, we saw a Spinner hub-cap factory , owned and managed by Bob Marek, and Sons The plant assembly line is made up of Darwin Huppert and John Holmgren They have become so alert since their last year at P H S that Bob decided to let them do it all nfpmmlf KELLERS GARAGE General Repalrmg X DeSoto and Plymouth gr Q C0 2 56116 26 Prescott, Wise G X e e 0 e 7 ssnvlcf . . ....... l ,A 3 1 f ' GX.
