ART ROOM What is your definition of art ? Do you think of it as a painting, a dance, or maybe a poem? Or do you think of it in a more general way. as a feeling, or an outlet? In a nutshell. I would say it is communication through personal expression ' commented art teacher Mr. Mike Murphy. If you had two hands and some paper, there were many way to express yourself in PHS's art room. You could bleed your feelings out in wa- tercolors. scratch them with a pencil, or blend them with pastels The art program also offered other outlets including clay, paper mache. air- brush. and silk screens. So. how did PHS students handle themselves with all these mediums? I'm impressed with Pres- cott students as far as their skill level, which is largely due to their elementary and junior high schooling. said Murphy. 26
