Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them (Thomas Merton: No Man Is An Island) 5 If a man does not make new acquaintan- ces as he advances through life, he will soon find himself alone. A man, sir, should keep his friendships in constant repair. -Samuel Johnson e Someone - to talk with to dance with to sing with to eat with to laugh with to cry with to think with to understand Someone- to be my friend -Susan Polis Shutz 9 I wish I could stand on a busy street corner hat in hand, and beg people to throw me all their wast- ed hours. -Bernard Berenerson True happiness consists not in the multi- tude of friends, but in their worth and choice. -Ben Jonson 15 lana THE TREASURE OF FRIENDSHIP It has been said that life has treated me harshly; and sometimes I have complained in my heart because many pleasures of human experience have been withheld from me, but when I recollect the treasure of friendship that has been bestowed upon me I withdraw all charges against life. If much has been denied me, much very much has been given me. So long as the memory of certain be- loved friends live in my heart I shall say that life is good. -Helen Keller Editors -in-Chief Marilyn Conley Maria Kendrick Sharon McDonald Advisor Marvin E.
