Small biways lead off from the main thoroughfares; many go down to failure, the rest are either shortcuts or lengthy detours. High school years are a most vul- nerable section of the main road. During these years we pave the road with emotions and experiences that we feel and remember for the rest of our lives. This year, we find along the road anticipation and quiet mo- ments . . . excitement and spirit . . . a desire for knowledge . . . facilities for learning . . . capable leaders and advisors—all of which are so necessary for progres- sion . . . —5— DR. Merle Tenney, president of the Junior Class, proudly displays the handsome trophy his class won for collecting the most money in the March of Dimes campaign. The Junior Class received the trophy last year as sophomores. When you ask a Thespian member to pose you really get some wild expressions, as evidenced during their initiation. I During the School Spirit Week, halls were decorated by all classes. The senior hall was on display as you entered PHS. Juniors won the first place points in the hall poster competition. Their many signs and banners created a very colorful and exciting hall. Even though this activity week was mainly for the basket- ball players, we wouldn't want to forget our wrestlers. So posters were made to boost the wrestlers' spirit, also. These tough sophomores did an outstanding job on their School Spirit hall. Although they came in second, they put out a first rate effort and we're very proud of their beautiful hall. — 108— Debbie Speer leans back in Her favorite chair in her journalism class. A yearbook is a memory book of places, proms, plays and pals. Within this book you may see gold or gray remembrances known only to you. In years to come you may again turn these pages—reminiscing, thinking a thousand thought of days gone by but not lost. I will turn these pages—reviewing, reliving, knowing hours of work and worry and leaden moments of frustration. 1 will remember people I thank for work well done: Dutch Reuter, Floyd Pigg and Jack Kepplin of Prescott Printing Co.; Chuck Bursell of S. K. Smith Cover Co.; Ernest McNey of Pioneer Photo; the crazy Hassayamper staff; the put-up-with-a-lot photographers; and love-life-cool-hand-Mike, Mr. R. T. Miku- lewicz, advisor. This book is priceless. Diamond memories cannot be measured in value. The Hassayamper is an invaluable part of me, and is now a part of you. Lori Evans, Editor —248— V
