Kathy has a talented finger in many pies: the Badger, of which she is editorg GAA, Usherettes, Library Club, Quill and Scroll, and National Honor Society, among others. She is planning college for the immediate future and, after that, a career. 16 Y r EXCELLING in a Variety of fields, Ed Hicks is the boy Most Likely to Succeed at almost anything-- public speaking, writing, acting, or anything re- quiring gray matter. Ed is president of the Science Club, photog- grapher ofthe Badger, photographer and sports edi- tor of the annual, and a member of Quill and Scroll, student council, slide rule club, Thespians, and others. He had the masculine lead in the sen- ior play. A career in medicine beckons this boy. Most Popular SWEET PERSONALITY and gra- ciousness make Joanne Gniedel, Most Popular girl, tops on every- body's list, A very active andbusy young lady, Joanne has belonged to Fl-LA, GAA, Yellow Jackets, and Library Club. She was secretary of the junior class, and, as a junior, she was elected to the Thanksgiv- ing royalty as Queen of the Ply- mouth Rock and Roll. In her sen- iorryear, Joanne has served as stu- dent body secretary and spirited captain of the pom-pon girls. Many a boy fand girly will never forget J o. IN-ZANY WIT and a likeable manner: these remind Us of Phil Oelze, Most Popular boy. A boy of many interests, he has lettered in football and baseball for three years, he was a sophomore home- room officer, and, as president of the senior class, he has served very ably. His versatile qualities also include artistic ability. We'll re- member him as wit extraordinary and friend super-duper. Most School Spirit AN UNBEATABLE combination are Sandra Neil's grace and pep, for which she was elected girl with Most School Spirit. She has dis- played her spirit as head student body cheerleader and also as an active participant in school social life. She belongs to GAA, FHA, Yellow Jackets, and Junior Red Cross. A member of the band for three years, she has served as sec- retary of the Band Council. We'll remember Sandra's roles in both the junior and senior class plays, too. OUTSTANDING CAPABILITY and likeability, demonstrated in many ways, make Tom Swanson the boy with Most School Spirit. A member of the Lettermen's Club, Tom has played football, basket- ball, and golf, he belongs to Na- tional Athletic Honor Society. Other interests have gained Tom membership in National Honor So- ciety, Student Council, and the band. In his junior year, he was a delegate to Boys' State and a homeroom officer. Tom will be majoring in business administra- tion at the University of Arizona in Tucson next year. Most Artistic SCINTILLATING personality and unusual talent are characteristim of Lorraine Koivu, Most Artistic girl. Her art contributions to the county fair have usually worn ribbons. Lorraine has held the offices of business manager and program chairman of the Art Club. She is often called upon to make posters for dances and games because of her clever and ap- propriate ideas. As a senior, she was assistant art editor of the BADGER and an art editor of the HASSAYAMPER. ALWAYS IN DEMAND to make decorations for school social functions is our very talented Most Ar- tistic boy, Jim Custer. Jim, too, has acquired a royal blue collection of ribbons for art work at the county fair. He plans to take commercial art or business administration at the University of Arizona in Tucson or Arizona State College at Tempe. Remember Jim's part in the junior class play and his role as assistant student body cheerleader? Most Musical GOOD THINGS COME in small packages--like Kaye Passey, charming Most Musical girl. She's played the French horn in the band and orchestra for three years, throughout her band experience, she has attended the music festival in Flagstaff, having soloed there and played in the woodwind quintet. A1- so an accomplished pianist and organist, she gives piano lessons and is junior Sunday school organist in her church. Some of her other activities are GAA, National Honor Society, FTA, and BADGER staff. A REAL LEADER is Steve Abbott, Most Musical boy. He has played first comet in the band for three years and in the orchestra and pep band for two years At the music festival in Flagstaff last year, Steve soloed on the cornet and was named to the all-state band. In the annual school talent assemblies, too, Steve has demonstrated his unusual ability, Among other things, Steve has served as a home- room officer, vice president of the junior class, and student body president. LINDA McMILLAN, who has displayed her pep as majorette for three years, also shows pep and skill on the dance iloorg and she is our girl Best Dancer. In her junior year, she won the school jitterbug contest, and she has always support- ed and attended school social func- tions. Linda has been a home- room officer for two years. She belongs to GAA, Yellow Jackets , Junior Red Cross, and Junior Of- ficials. A delegate to Girls' State last year, Linda was chosen to go on to Girls' Nation--a recognition of her extraordinary qualities. BEST DANCER Giles Rink Goswick enjoys all kinds of danc- ing, but his particular talent is for western dancingg he prefers the western stomps. Rink was chosen all-around cowboy at the FFA Junior Rodeo in the summer of 1956, and rodeo activities are his favorites. He also played foot- ball in his junior year and basket- ball in his sophomore and junior years. After graduation, Rink will attend Colorado A. 8cM.'s school of veterinary medicine. Most Athletic AN ENGAGING SMILE for all occasions has Sandra Peterson, Most Athletic girl. She took top honors in archery, table tennis, and badminton in her sophomore and junior years. Her hobbies are athletic, too: bowl- ing, tennis, golf, baseball, and horseback riding. Also active in school social life, Sandy is a charter member and officer of FTA. KENNY JONES is really a many-splen- dored athlete, having lettered three years in football, baseball, basketball, and track. In his junior year, he was named to all- conference football and received honorable mention at All-State in football. Also, Kenny has played American Legion base- ball for three years. During the summer months, he has done forest fire fighting. i 1 f i e, s t 5 FUNNY, FUN-LOVING, facetious: words to des- cribe Billy Roberts, Wittiest boy of the class of '57. Billy is a member of the Pipers Car Club, and cars are his hobby. Elected to the student council in his senior year, he has been active in that organization's operations and has supported and attended school social functions enthusiastically. Talkative girls are an old pet peeve, but Bill's is new: girls that are scared to talk. SUNNY SIDE of the street is Where Wittiest girl, Carole Bert Miller land those around her, lives. Infinite good humor is the best part of Wit, and it is a strong element in Bert's lively quips and counter- quips. Her activities are GAA, Yellow Jackets, FTA, Thespians, and Quill and Scroll. Egotistical people are her pet peeve, and making friends is her hobby. Her success in this kind of hobby should forecast success in any field.
