Claire's athletic ability has been amply demonstrated by her active participation in G.A.A. throughout her high school years. She is this year's President of G.A.A. which is to be understood when one realizes she has far outshone all others in girls' sports. Claire's friendliness and good sportsmanship are other good features of this extremely likeable girl. Pete Starkey is an athlete in every sense of the word. He has lettered in football and basketball for three years and made a good showing in track. This year he was given honor- able mention on the All-State Foot- ball Squad. Also to add to his laurels was his election to co-captain of the football team at Homecoming. Be- sides his athletics, Pete is president of the Car Club and his homeroom. The accomplishments of Claire Pearson and Pete Starkey certainly speak for themselves and definitely show why this pair were awarded the title MOST ATHLETIC. W. 3 , MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED Chosen MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED by their classmates are Gwen Newman and Joe Tope. Gwen's success in many clubs as well as being editor-in-chief of both the Badger and the Hassayamper and having the leading role in the Senior Class Play demonstrates fully her ability to get ahead. She was this year's secretary of the student body and served previously as councilman-at-large. Gwen's cheerful disposition and hard work show why she is destined to succeed. Joe was chosen as a representative to Boys' State and served as a student councilman from his homeroom for three consecutive years. His grades have always been far above average and his diligence and study have easily won him a place at the top in all his classes. It seems self-evident that Joe will be at the top in later life also. All these qualities and many more point out readily that Gwen and Joe will find suc- ldj Wee .in the years to come. ' Qs MOST ARTISTIC Pictured here are Elaine Koivu and Phil Poland, overwhelmirngly voted the MOST ARTISTIC members of the Class of ,54. Elaine's artistic talent has been doubly appreciated at P.H.S. because of her willingness to make use of it for the school. One of many such services was her silk screening of the posters for last year's Junior Class Play. She has also done free hand posters for school dances and is this year's Art Editor of the an- nual. Phil's creativeness has been ap- parent to all of'us throughout all our school years in many ways. When he was a sophomore, the campaign posters he painted were outstanding. His most recent contribution was his sleigh for this year's Christmas Hop. Artistic talent is a marvelous gift and we're proud that Elaine Koivu and Philip Poland shared theirs with us. .WW U ,' , I H 47 20 f 5, , MOST SCHOOL SPIRIT Betty Sue Woods and Ray Pruitt, who have so often displayed their school spirit, were voted this title which they so richly deserved. Betty Sue as cheerleader, received the title MOST SCHOOL SPIRIT unanimously. It was so obvious that she deserved the honor that she ran unopposed. Her service to the school as cheerleader included leading yells at all the many pep assemblies, football and basketball games, to say nothing of night pep rallies. Betty has been a cheerleader for two years, and as a sophomore, she was a majorette. Ray's election was similarly impressive, and the reason is apparent. As Senior Class President this year, Ray got behind all the class activities and will certainly be remem- bered for his dogged persistance in the sell- ing of play tickets. Not all of his efforts have been directed to the Senior Class, however, but also as the chief manager of those en- thusiastic pep rallies staged before each home game. Together, Betty Sue and Ray have put a lot of spirit back into P.H.S. and have made attending school even more enjoyable. ' 6 f ' I I' .4 1 ,A I Jura' J' Lf I .f ,.4f'!' !i 2 I ,CMI riff l' ' .'-' r ' l WITTIEST Myra Higgins and Paul Atkinsons elec tion to WITTIEST was an obvious choice for the Class of 54 Myra s enthusiasm sparked by a ready wit will definitely gain for her a place in the memories of all this years graduates Plus her excellent sense of humor she is a band member attended Girls State last year and had a role in the Junior Class Play If this is not tribute enough it might be added that in addition to her own wit Myra has an ap prec1at1ve laugh for the Jokes of others Pauls zany antics have kept many a stu dent doubled over with laughter in fact when hes around theres never a dull mo ment Paul has a witty remark for every occasion plus hilarious facial expressions to set them off All these characteristics and hundreds of others combine to make Paul Paul Combine the talents of Myra Higgins an Paul Atkmson and youll have one howling ba J faf MOST POPULAR Voted the MOST POPULAR mem bers of the class of 54 are Dee Scholey and Delbert Davis Dee s popularity coupled with her willingness to work was demonstrat ed when she was chosen two year councilman at large She has been a member of the pom pon girls for three years and this year served as their captain. Dee has worked effi- ciently for the Yellow Jackets and as a junior was chairman of the Jr.- Sr. Banquet and Prom committee. As the crowning point in her high school career Dee was elected Queen of the Homecoming Activities. Though a member of Prescott Senior High for only a year at the time of his election Delbert was chosen S t u d e n t Body President. Through an unfortunate mistake Delbert s term of office was brought to a close but not before his capa- bility was demonstrated. His easy smile and interest in others has won him a place in the hearts of all who know him and readily show why Delbert was voted MOST POPULAR. Their friendly personalities and willingness to help at once explain why Dee and Delbert are tops in popularity. N 5? E5 rw s 5, al 1 13111011 3 J I Q 23 I . fi Q v'.JJ X l, fi.
