She has tried diligently to develop our hidden talents. This has required patience, understanding, and tact. Miss Savage has exemplified these qualities and many more in her work in dromatics and English. We, the students of Prescott High School, feel honored and deeply grateful to have had her guidance therefore we consider it a privilege and take great pride in dedicating this year s Hassayamper to Miss Lillian Savage AUNT Aunt Lil 4 . , . . . . . . . . . , ll Il ' ' ' ,- . 4' , I , 7 U lv . l 1 ,- If J ,1 1.7: ' Q ,X 3 - ,S iii l A , ,..-I I . The old gentle- man would most lilcely be well pleased with this year's student body officers. These have set an excellent example for the rest of the student body to follow. Melva, with her pleasant smile and winning ways has truly captured the respect and hearts of those who know her. She was Prescott's entry as princess in the Salad Bowl. lt is easy to see why she should hold the title of Most Popu- lar. Branch, who participated in sports as well as many other school activities is also well deserving of the title Most Popular , Everyone recognizes Branch as a true friend. His pleasantness and thoughtful- ness has made him tops among his classmates. 'N 151 If 1' if :SPN A 2' If ffxfsfbfq c NS' I mf Q5 N41 5? They are both deserving of the title. Sue, who is president of the G.A. A. , has excelled in archery, and par- ticipated in state meets. She is also active in other sports as badminton and volley ball. She is among the first few Senior girls to win the 62 letter award. Jim, a three year letterman in basketball, football, and track, is an all round Sportsman who has received state wide recognition. He has fine sportsmanship and a great Will-to- win. i 5ve1!' mi 4 ...N 'S il o sofa vlCONl?:s of C, I '39 QQYV QKX0 GQ, cs C it X 5092? Diane and Vance WITTIEST One can recognize the witty remarks and antics of Diane and Vance from the classroom to the dance floor. Moments of seriousness are few in the company of the school 's wittiest. Diane never needs an excuse to joke and does so with every other word. She's always beaming with humor, bubbling with witty re- marks and always on hand to put a bit of glad- ness into her school mates' everyday drudgery. Vance has what is known as dry humor . Dry or not, he 's got a ioke for every occasion and knows just how to put it over. His ex- pressionless countenance never gives his joke away. He lets everyone laugh while he sits back and keeps the iokes and witty remarks pouring forth. After 0 session with these two one can scarcely undouble themselves. 49 Frances and Mike MOST LIKELY TC SUCCEED We think Frances and Mike have the world at their disposal. Responsibility and depend- ability are everyday with Frances. lf a good iob's to be done, Frances will see to it. Along with these two character- istics and many others, includ- ing her pleasant way with others, we are sure Frances will succeed in whatever she under- takes. Mike, too, shares the won- derful q ual ities intrusted to make him the successful type. He doesn't give up easily and finishes whatever he starts . He, too, is responsible and depend- able as we know from the ser- vices he has rendered to the school. ln whatever field he enters we are sure he will be a great success. Jaclc and Mardell MOST ARTISTIC Pencnl pen or chalk t doesnt matter Mardell and Jack have been gutted wsth the power to draw Whether at s decoratlons parties crowns or dance programs you can be sure they helped These two defmltely deserve theur well awarded tltle if Q l 4-? T5 38 Ein. 16 P 12 L 7M , 789 V Summarizing the PHS basketball season game by game would be quite a chore so only the highlights of the season will be given with the complete schedule and results above. The Badgers had a i2-6 final season record and a 6-3 class A conference showing. A game to be remembered will be the 55-51 triumph over Tucson, the pre-season favorties, that game placed Prescott in the basketball circle a crown contender. Amphitheatre an early season powerhouse came to play the Granite Creek boys in their gym as solid favorites because of the Phoenix Union walloping 55-33, handed Prescott, but the tables were turned and Amphi went south with two more defeats to their record 44-30 and 50-36. Then came Tech, the big gun of the conference, with George Sandoval a one man show, but they were toppled 54-46, with Frank Tease showing up as their best player and second best on the floor next to Prescott's Savoini our returning All-Stater. A week later the Badgers invaded the West gym in what was termed the battle of the year, and it was, but West won 42-38, while Jim Savoini meshed 25 points in a losing cause. Mesa came up and had a lead for 3l minutes and 59 seconds as Prescott won 39-38 on Phister's last second field goal. The last week of play was humiliating for Prescott as we lost games to North and Peoria 39-36 and 37-38 respectively. The l95l-52 squad will always be remembered as champs, and Coach Heath a championship coach. x 98 ' -if ,ao COACH Gill and Hallmark jump for ball as Devoy and junio MILLER Griego wait.
