FACULTY In his capacity as boys' counselor, Warner Dixon acted as their “slip signer.” friend, and mentor. Somehow he also managed to teach algebra, geometry, advanced arithmetic, and world history. During the afternoons, Dorothy Hardaway conducted the af- fairs of the school library. At the complicated workings of call numbers, card index, and files, she was an experienced hand. Frances Herring, art instructor, showed enthusiasts how to work in various media. Advertising many school affairs were the gay posters drawn by her classes. As the only instructor of sophomore Knglish. Mildred King taught grammar and literature. Active in many school ac- tivity, she was a popular singer at social functions. “Bugology” and agriculture constituted courses led by Royal Rutherford. As an avid photographer, he concocted several admirable collections of pictures.
