7-lfme gfudenf godnl Gflgicefzs T HE student body officers, Robert Horne, presidentg Robert Porter, vice-presidentg Barbara Baker, secretaryg and Edgar Rucker, who was appointed assistant treasurer by the student council, have proved to be exceptional in qualities of leadership and iniative. Their ability was especially shown in leading the student council. A student body may be known by the type of officers it chooses, and in this case, excellent judgment has been shown by the choice of leaders who are uniformly efficient and worthy. K K CK ccomplislfzmenfs 06 time gfudenf Gounci THE student council, functioning as a closely knit body of home room representatives, student body officers, and class presidents has accomplished much during the year of 1937-38. Credit may be given to the council fo1' the establishment of a school cafeteria, for satisfactory solution of a difficult traffic situ- ation, and for other special projects. The committee system of legislation was used to a great extent. The committees carried over from former years-the traffic committee, the improvement committee, and the reception committe-were sup- plemented by new committees-the athletic committee, the awards com- mittee, and the activities committee. This system worked for greater efficiency and speed in introducing and investigating proposals. 1938 HHSSHYPIIIIPGR
