show. When the name of the show flashed across the screen, I almost jumped out of my chair. The show was called the Ronnie Looney's Show. After the first shock was over we enjoyed Ronnie's show immensely. He is a great comedian. His guest star was George Gobel, the man who gave Ronnie his start in show business. Then the show's, vocalist came out to sing a couple of numbers. She wore a green satin gown and a white mink. I didn't recognize her until they showed a close-up of her. It was Mari- ilyn Shinkle. She was singing a blues song and with Marilyn singing it, it sounded good Well, I guess that's all the Seniors of '56, but myself. My life-long ambition was to sing with a band. So after school I went to New York and got a job singing in Club 21. I met my husband there. He owned several radio companies. After that we were married, and put on a radio show of our own. It's been fun meeting my classmates again after all this time. I hope we can meet again in another ten years. Senior Poem Fourteen verses follow in line, We hope each will rhyme, This is to remind you of everyone's art, For the '56 class will soon depart. Nila, the shortest of the class, Is the first of us to pass, To school she had a very long walk, And in class she liked to talk. Carol is the next for us to meet, In her appearance she was always neat, She always had plenty of clothes, And Kenney was the one she chose. Jack the guy with the crew cut hair, Without a problem or a care, He got through school by hook, or crook. Usually by copying someone's book. Donna is our ambitious lass, She was the fastest typist in our class, When it came to basketball she was on the beam, She made a good forward for our team. Rosie, whom we know by name, Had a giggle that won her fame, To drive the Chevie was her delight, Especially with a gang at night.

That night after supper I began to think of the other school friends I had forgotten. One girl that stands out in my memory is Ida Dueling. She loved to pester people. I had heard the day before that she had started a foundation for sick teachers in Califor- nia. It seems she felt sorry for all the teachers she had given headaches while in school. She had always wanted to be a nurse's aide. so she started this institution. From all reports, business is thriving. Janice West, another '56 Senior, told me there were three Prescott teachers there for a rest, when she was visiting Ida. They were: Mr. Danner, Mr. Kiser, and Mr. Miller. I think it was only a coincidence that these three had Senior classes! ! ! Speaking of Janice West, she is now a very successful Powers Model. She poses for advertising of Muriel Cigars. She came to see me last week and told me what she had heard from Rosalie Rychnovsky. Rosie is doing very well in her position as a women's labor union leader. Right now they are on strike and Rosalie's picture is on the front page of every big newspaper in the country. They're striking for shorter hours higher pay, and more coffee breaks. Stay with it Rosie, we women can't be pushed around. As I picked up a comic book from off the floor, I thumbed through it. Towards the back I noticed a page that had a love lorn column on it. The letters were ad- dressed to a Dear Mel. I read the fine print at the bottom of the page and found out that Mel was Melvin Birt. As most of the Seniors knew, Melvin was pretty good at writing anonymous letters while in school, and it seems that he put his tal- ent to very good use. A new show in New York now is P.H.S. 's new spectacular, Gentlemen Prefer Women. It is a big contender for the Academy Award for best acting and best movie of the year. Jerry Leach and Phyllis Blazek are the stars. They both have very promising careers. Of course Phyllis Blazek has changed her name: it is now Fifi La Tulle. Jerry is still a bachelor but every movie magazine I pick up I see him with some pretty starlet on his arm. Jerry Haigler just came back from making an extensive survey of foreign gov- ernments. Whenl read this, I thought Mr. Miller. our government teacher, would like to have known it. Jake has just been appointed Secretary of Defense of the Army. He and President Eisenhower have been close friends for years. I heard a commercial on the radio, advertising treatments at a beauty salon. The name of it was Nila's. She has beauty salons all over the country. She claims to be able to redo the entire personality. Her slogan is, Come in when you're 40, leave looking 20. Upon hearing of a new TV program on Saturday night, I decided to watch the Page sponsor -- BROWN'S PRODUCE, Corning Iowa

Ida the only girl in the class owning a car, She drove to places near and far, To ride on the bus to and from school, She didn't mind at all to do. Down the highways Jerry would fly, In his Olds. He's quite a guy, When the time came to get a date, Sharon was the one who seemed to rate. Janice the Art editor of the Senior Star, Keeps her studies up to par, Ready to help whenever needed, And her advice should always be heeded. Phyllis a girl who always had plenty of dates, A gal who, with Ralph always did rate Phyllis Blazek is the girl of whom I say, Maybe you'll be invited to her wedding someday. Ronald who played on the baseball team, Wasn't nearly as quiet as he may seem, Wherever there's fun, he 's always around, But when the teacher appeared he couldn't he found. This lad made it a point to have fun, But Melvin managed to get his lessons done, With all the girls he gets along swell, What he'd do next you never could tell. lake who always resolved to do better, Came to class every day later, Although he's the youngest of our boys, Where he goes there 's sure to be noise. Near Williamson, Iowa lives this girl, Who on the dance floor liked to twirl, Hillbilly music Marilyn liked to hear, To be an Airline reservationist was her chosen career. Farewell to the '56 Senior Class, We hope you will remember each lad and lass, Down the halls our footsteps no more shall ring, But part of our memories to this will cling.
