We, the Class of '56, will to the Class of '57, all the honor roll grades we wanted but never got. We, the Class of '56, will to the Class of '58, the ability to argue on questions and never agree. We, the Class of '56, will to the Class of '59, all the broken chairs, gum wrappers and papers we left. We, Pat, Donna and Carol, will all the headaches we gave to our teachers to Connie, Beverly and Mary. We, Rosie, Janice and Phyllis, will our ability not to be on the basketball team to Connie G. , Sherry and Marjorie. We, Jack, Jerry and Melvin, will our ability to go to class without listening or study- ing and still pass to Tom, Glen, and Raymond. Witnessed by: George Gobel Pat Boone Prince Rainier Grace Kelly Senior Prophecy Going through my fan mail after my radio program, I ran across a name that sounded familiar. It was a name of one of my classmates, Donna Lyles. She said, while on tour with her women's olympic team, she caught my program. With Donna as their manager, they are sure to win top honors. Donna was the only Senior of '56 to be on the basketball team. Seems like she just couldn't quit athletics. Whenl got home I flopped down on the couch and fell sound asleep. Right in the middle of a beautiful dream, 1 was awakened by a loud noise. The children had come home from school, and turned on the television set. A man was telling about the great new invention of Jack Van Vleet. Iack's invention is a new theory for working algebraic problems. He was always the mathematical genius of our class and he must have felt sorry for some of the others like me who couldn't even figure out what 'x' equaled. fThis new invention should eliminate a lot of headaches that kids used to have along about six-weeks test time.j About then my husband came home. On the way home he had stopped in at a drug store to get some aspirin and met a very amusing woman. She was trying to cor- al ten screaming little monsters and at the same time order some medicine for her throat. She was hoarse, as always, and the poor druggist couldn't hear her for all the noise. They finally went into a quiet room and started all over again. Since my hus- band is also from Prescott, he thought she looked familiar and asked her name. She told him Carol Foster. Then he remembered she was a former classmate of mine, Carol McCarty. She and Ken got married right after school was out and started raising their family. They are only in New York for a short time as Kenney is traveling around the country trying to find someone to finance his new invention of an atomic chicken incubator.

That night after supper I began to think of the other school friends I had forgotten. One girl that stands out in my memory is Ida Dueling. She loved to pester people. I had heard the day before that she had started a foundation for sick teachers in Califor- nia. It seems she felt sorry for all the teachers she had given headaches while in school. She had always wanted to be a nurse's aide. so she started this institution. From all reports, business is thriving. Janice West, another '56 Senior, told me there were three Prescott teachers there for a rest, when she was visiting Ida. They were: Mr. Danner, Mr. Kiser, and Mr. Miller. I think it was only a coincidence that these three had Senior classes! ! ! Speaking of Janice West, she is now a very successful Powers Model. She poses for advertising of Muriel Cigars. She came to see me last week and told me what she had heard from Rosalie Rychnovsky. Rosie is doing very well in her position as a women's labor union leader. Right now they are on strike and Rosalie's picture is on the front page of every big newspaper in the country. They're striking for shorter hours higher pay, and more coffee breaks. Stay with it Rosie, we women can't be pushed around. As I picked up a comic book from off the floor, I thumbed through it. Towards the back I noticed a page that had a love lorn column on it. The letters were ad- dressed to a Dear Mel. I read the fine print at the bottom of the page and found out that Mel was Melvin Birt. As most of the Seniors knew, Melvin was pretty good at writing anonymous letters while in school, and it seems that he put his tal- ent to very good use. A new show in New York now is P.H.S. 's new spectacular, Gentlemen Prefer Women. It is a big contender for the Academy Award for best acting and best movie of the year. Jerry Leach and Phyllis Blazek are the stars. They both have very promising careers. Of course Phyllis Blazek has changed her name: it is now Fifi La Tulle. Jerry is still a bachelor but every movie magazine I pick up I see him with some pretty starlet on his arm. Jerry Haigler just came back from making an extensive survey of foreign gov- ernments. Whenl read this, I thought Mr. Miller. our government teacher, would like to have known it. Jake has just been appointed Secretary of Defense of the Army. He and President Eisenhower have been close friends for years. I heard a commercial on the radio, advertising treatments at a beauty salon. The name of it was Nila's. She has beauty salons all over the country. She claims to be able to redo the entire personality. Her slogan is, Come in when you're 40, leave looking 20. Upon hearing of a new TV program on Saturday night, I decided to watch the Page sponsor -- BROWN'S PRODUCE, Corning Iowa
