Basggfei fb G0 wwf' First row Lulu Coleman Qstudent managerj Jean Brown, Joan Brown, Lavon Bolson Gloria McKee, Betty Ryan, Dorothy Vicker, Max Johnson coach Second row Nancy oleman fstudent managerj, Bernadine Putnam, Marilyn McKe Chestine Crowell, Carol Beatty, Jeanne Hollingsworth, lqrna Brandt The girls squad started out their season with a new coach, Max Johnson, with seven lettermen returning to the team They were Chestlne Crowell, Carol Beatty, Marilyn McKee, Betty Ryan, Jeanne Hollingsworth, Joan Brown, and Jean Brown In addition to these, Myrna Brandt, Lavon Polson, Bernadine Putnam, Gloria McKee, and Dorothy Vicker were added to the squad. The season was opened unsuccessfully, losing the first game to the strong Bridgewater sextet. After this first defeat the Prescott Eaglettes advanced to win their next eight games, defeating Cromwell, Gravity, Conway, Sharpsburg, Clearfield, Nodaway, Richland, and Blockton Then once again they were defeat ed by Bridgewater After some more regular season games, Prescott entered the waubonsie Tourn ament at Gravity The Eaglettes won their first game over Sharpsburg, but lost in the second round to Gravity After winning two of the next three games, Prescott traveled to Clearfield to take part in sectional play In the first round they were able to defeat Clearfield and advance to the second round. In the second round they were de feated by Blockton, s. team which Prescott had defeated twice during the regular season. The 'Sl 52 , season ended with a victory over Shannon City and Orient and a loss to a much improved Richland team. We felt we had had a successful season with a record of seventeen wins and nine losses We are also proud of the trophy we won for first place standi in the Waubonsie Conference In the conference we had a record of eleven wins and one loss. The five senior girls who said good by to basketball at the end of this season are, Marilyn McKee, Bernadine Putnam, Chestine Crowell, Carol Beatty, and Betty Ryan.
