new year has begun. The sight of new faces and the sound of new voices add to the excitement as the Freshmen Orientation Board welcomes the new students to PC ' s Campus. After a long day of unpacking memories from home and creating the refuge which will become home for the next year, the freshmen attend their first real party at PC — the Freshmen Mixer. Six-thirty A:M. comes early. The friend- ly voices of the F.O.B. members of yester- day abruptly change to the voices of drill sergeants leading their troops. Getting up in the dark and parading to G.D.H. with the stylish garb provided by the orienta- tion board reminds each freshman of his inferiority in his new society. Though the value of such an orientation program has been pondered, the strengths of it are evident in the unity of the freshmen and the upperclassmen. — Jimbo Shoptaw S.G.A. President
