Presbjterian CoH , Jaines H Thomason Library Clinton. South Carolina 29327 % PAC SAC 72 James H. Thomason Library Presbyterian College Clinton, South Carolina Volume LVI 7j 7 A bright September [ morning, here it begins, fnJ3 four years of — whatever ' you want to make it. One look around tells you a lot about the place. The dignified Neville hall, the bright new infirmary. Springs gymnasium serv- ing its last years as the home of the Blue Hose. Look closer, the tree lin- ed front plaza, the curving walks and plenty of open space. Look inside at the classrooms. People lis- tening, people talking, people learning, the rea- son for its existence. Three terms make up the academic year, two long and one short. Time to spend in searching out new ideas, to explore new thoughts and to meet new people. P.C. is eight hun- dred people living togeth- er, learning together and playing together. 2 rHEME ' ■ V : ' ¥ ' ' ; M V ■ - ( il i J m THEME 3 4 rHEME p w 7 r._ ■ - ' SS ' % h-i r .. j i THEME 5 6 THEME THEME 7 Here are the outward signs of P.C. The old giving over to the new as the new infirmary replaces the dark musty Doyle. The faculty each one serving as a guide and a friend. The buildings some old some new all serving a purpose as part of an academic community. 8 rHEME f i i THEME 9 Getting a date for Saturday games, planning a trip to Charleston, fire- works at half time, the anticipation of the homecoming sponsors and dinner on the grounds are all a part of life at P.C. 10 THEME N ' wWwi M AJki yg JRMp JP V ife.«i H W F ' : P ' - J B ir i THEME 11 g J P ifflfyiTURAL ENRICHMENT 4 12 THEME 14 rHEME SNOW .? 4 THEME 15 1 rm ' jmm BFVih l if X Hi PP m . Freshman soon slipped in- to the same rut that the upperclassmen were in. A rut worn with time and use. No one cared about what the S.G.A. was doing or about the guy down the hall. No one bothered to go to Saturday games — it was too hot or too cold or just too much trouble. Who cared to go support a losing basketball team or a tennis team not quite as good as last year ' s — or were they, who knew, few tried to find out. Who bothered to get involved in student activities or inter- ested in politics? Why bother to go hear a speaker or attend a concert or a play, — I really need to study — or was that just an excuse worn and used like all the rest. But does it matter? THEME 19 For even the most timid freshman who entered Biology 102, there was a gentle smile and a patient desire to help the in- dividual student grow both inside the class- room and within the community. He was known to Biology students for his willing- ness to share his knowledge and to those outside the department for his friendly smile and quiet ways. For his many years of ser- vice to Presbyterian College the 1972 Pac Sac is dedicated to Alexander Bell Stump , 20 DEDICATION DEDICATION DEDICATION 21 ADMINISTRATION AND FACULTY Marc C. Possibly the most out- standing of these performances was the National Shakespeare Company production of Twelfth Night. Another highlight of the 1971-72 season was Conductor Robert Shaw and the Atlanta Sym- phony Orchestra. Baritone Abdid Fazah met with several classes as well as appearing in concert. Entertaining in early assemblies were composer John Laudermilk and John Chappell as Mark Twain. Under the guidance of Alta Alberga, students interested in all areas of art are able to exhibit their work in both individual and group showings. In addition, this area brings to the PC campus various art collections for the enjoyment of all students. The Presbyterian College choir under the direction of Dr. Charles T. Gaines presents both a Christmas Carol Service in December and a Spring Concert in late March. Highlighting the musical productions is the Madrigal Dinner-Concert which takes the guests back to an even- ing at a great hall in sixteenth century England complete with jesters, jugglers and Morris dancers. In the field of the dramatic arts, the PC Players under the direction of Dale O. Rains, produced a wide variety of dramatic performances. This year, the PC players have presented The Boor, Ralph Roister Doister and Phaedra. During the winter terms, the Black Magic Theater came to life with the production of the ever-popular Harvey.
