DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION The goals of the Department of Education are to pre- pare students to be professionally adapt in the art of teaching. The courses offered are designed to give the prospective teacher solid background in Educational theory and methods, while allowing the student to com- plete a major. When a student graduates after taking the education program, he is qualified to be certified under the laws of the state of South Carolina.
