MR. CLAYTON TOONEN English MR. VINCE FONDER History MR. GRANT KILLORAN English FR. KENEN VIRLEE French , Russian FR. LAURENCE MAYER Religion MR. JOHN GAIE Chemistry MR. TOONEN, Premontre ' s qualified driver educa¬ tion instructor, conducts the only private school driving course in the area. He has experienced a 50% increase over last year ' s enrollment. Serving as head basketball and tennis coach, MR. KILLORAN enjoys playing basketball on a recreational city bas¬ ketball team; he has come to be known as the Big Cun . Serving as a member of the Frater Informa¬ tion Formation Team, which helps Fraters during their stay at St. Norbert Abbey. FATHER MAYER makes his home at the Abbey; commuting to and from school. MR. FONDER, besides serving as our announcer at athletic events, is a member of the Knights of Columbus Bowling League. Premontre ' s Russian Export, FATHER VIRLEE, served as the assistant athletic director and moderator of football, hockey and the varsity club. He is an avid outdoor sportsman. MR. GAIE, moderator of the Science Club, enjoys spending his free time with his family, which includes six children, the newest addi¬ tion being an adopted Afro-American boy. Pre¬ montre ' s ROTC Department is under the direction of L.T.C. Jacobs, Retired, who has as his assistants the SGTS. BEARD and BETTINE. Since taking over the department in 1967, L.T.C. Jacobs has revamped the whole ROTC program, and has completely changed its direction and purpose to that of the modern, more sophisticated military career man. 64

CLAUDE ZABINSKI Geometry INSTITUTED INTO STUDENT ACTIVITIES FATHER GUYON, active in the theatrical world for many years, directed Premontre ' s ' 69 musical pro¬ duction of Guys and Dolls, and acted in his capacity as the school ' s vocation director. MR. LUNDERGAN taught methods of instruction to Army Reserve per¬ sonnel and headed the committee for a revised class schedule for the 1969-70 school year, while institut¬ ing a new program of instruction for his French classes. Returned after a year of study on a grant from the National Science Foundation, FATHER JOPPE conducted an experimental course in high school sociology in cooperation with the ASA, and laid the basis for the exchange of teachers between the Academy and Premontre next year. FATHER BRAASCH, Premontre ' s stock market expert, started a new Investment Club and coaxed several faculty members to lend their financial support. FATHER KAY, through whose efforts intramurals were returned to student activities, serves as sopho¬ more class counselor and an executive on the Green Bay Guidance Council. He enjoys experimenting with the camera in his free time. Active in St. Jo¬ seph ' s Athletic Club, MR. MAKI, a new faculty member, was the head JV football coach. FATHER TIBER, moderator of the Key Club and a member of the Southwest Green Bay Kiwanis Club, is the chair¬ man of the committee on Vocational Guidance. MR. MYERS, a member of the Operation Area Arts Pro¬ motion Council, finds time to work at his parish roll¬ er rink on Friday nights. The oldest faculty member at age 69, MR. HALL enjoys his life of semi-retire¬ ment by assisting the math department in the area of team teaching. FATHER ZABINSKI, an assistant at St. Mary of the Angels Church, enjoys flying in his free time . 63
