ART DEPARTMENT CAPTURES TWO AWARDS IN NATIONAL SCHOLASTIC ART COMPETITION In a time heavy with apathy and a lack of involve¬ ment, Premontre ' s faculty stands apart, for they are continually seeking and developing areas of interest both in and apart from the school. MR. SHORT was engaged in a research project at the University of Wisconsin in Mathematics, and was an active mem¬ ber of the National Council of Teachers of Math, the Republican Party and the school ' s Investment Club. FATHER BLECHA promoted the Wisconsin Conser¬ vation Association and the North-East Audubon So¬ ciety, while serving as Freshman class advisor. MR. HOEHNE, Chairman of the Brown County Citizens for Educational Freedom, was elected to the State Board of Directors of CEF. Their aim: to push for leg¬ islation fostering tuition rebates to parents who send their children to private institutions. FATHER STREBEL implemented the Kennedy physi¬ cal fitness program by jogging ten miles each day. MRS . MAYHUGH found herself in a unique posi¬ tion: that of being one of only two female faculty members. An energetic Democrat, she vigorously supported the party. FATHER KASTENHOLZ became chairman of the Green Bay Diocesan Foreign Lan¬ guage Association. FATHER BECKER ' S ambitions in¬ clude competition on the golf course and an avid interest in the baseball circuit. MR. ALLEN, a mem¬ ber of the PEA and WEA, has made horses a hobby for his entire family to enjoy during their summer vacation. FATHER MALONEY feels his most note¬ worthy accomplishment this year was joining our il¬ lustrious faculty. Aside from that, he is active in the American Catholic Psychological Association and a city basketball league. Eager Frosh Jeff Crim and Roger Noel don the cloaks of artists as Fr. Rossey releases the cast sculpture of Lee Kerwin. 60
