Finally, the end. I made it. Emotion hits me as I rise to receive my diploma. Tears? Ha! Oh how I will miss so many things. Those tormenting hours of “cramming” in the library. That wonderful little nightmare, you know the one, where your calculator gives up during a statics exam. Ah yes, and the classrooms — so comfortably air-condi- tioned in the middle of winter, tropical in the dogdays of spring. Adieu Physical Elec- tronics! Goodbye Bursar! (a very special sentimentality occurs when I think of not seeing the Bursar ever again ). Thank good- ness there are no pockets for a calculator in a cap and gown. The sheepskin hits my hand. It is heavy. Heavy with the feeling of accomplishment — like when you finish a big project, or finally grasp a theory that once seemed completely incomprehen- sible.
