Elm af 1940 HENRY JOSTEN Track Squad 2, 4, Letterman 3, Basketball Manager 43 Magazine Campaign, Captain 4g Prattler Staff 2, 33 Editor 4, Osage Editor 4. That quiet gentleman in the back row is sure to be Henry. He is the very efhcient editor-in-chief of both the Prattler and the Osage. His feature articles are a wonder to us all and he has shown remarkable ability on the track squad. We are sure your future success will equal that which you have made here, Henry. WILLIAM T. KALINOWSKI- WiIlie Soccer Squad 2g Letterman 3, 45 Basketball Squad 13 Let- terman 2, 3, 4, Track Letterman 1, 2, 3, 4g Class Vice-Presi- dent lg Student Council 2, Senior Play 43 Operetta 4g Sports Club 3g President 43 Model Airplane Club President 1, 25 Traffic Squad 3, 4, Boys' Glee Club 4g School Play 3, 4. The school will greatly miss the athletic ability of Willie, our star pole vaulter. His ready wit, combined with his love of sports, has made him one of the most popular boys of the class. He can hold his own in any argument, provided Johnny isn't around, and he frequently shows himself to be a deter- mined thinker. Good-luck, Kal! JUDITH ELINE KOEHLER- Judy Art Club 1, 2, 3, 45 Baseball 1, 3, 4. Judy's chief interest is art-Art for Art's sake-or so they say. Anyway we've seen definite proof of her talent and her neatness in penmanship will always be a source of delight to us. We hope Judy won't be too sad upon leaving that little Freshman boy we've heard so much about. NANCY ANN LAMPHIER-- HomeIy School Play 2, 3, 4g Dramatics 2, 3, 45 Declarnationg 2, When we speak of Nancy we can't help mentioning Marie- the two girls whose interests lie elsewhere than at Pratt. Nancy has been one of our most prominent actresses, having done a variety of roles equally well. We think Nancy ought to make Broadway her future stamping ground-and who knows, maybe she will! 13

Glam ,of 1940 ALMA ROSEMARIE GUIDI Chorus 1, 2, Operetta 1, 2g Homemaking 3, President 4. Quiet and reserved and a good cook, Alma has always been ready to take charge of the refreshment committees. She has also done a great part of the work in the library and to Alma we owe much of the successs of our class. GERTRUDE LOUISE HARDING- Trudy Art Club 1, 2, 3. Trudy is the future famous horsewoman of national renown. Her understanding of animals has emphasized her ability to sympathize with her friends at Pratt. Her good nature which has claimed us for four years becomes more astounding each day. We're sure we'll someday be very much aware of the Harding Stables. MARY PLATT HARRINGTON Field Hockey 13 Basketball 1, 2, 3, Baseball 2, 4, Chorus 1, 2, 3, 4, Operetta 1, 2, 3, 4. Mary's quiet manner and sweet smile are in evidence every day in the school year. She's never in a dither of hot and cold or sweet and sour, but always just Mary. Her loyalty to Pratt need not be asserted, and we are happy to have had her as one of our classmates. CHARLES JOHNSON, JR.- Charlie Science Club lg Photography Club 2, 3, 4. Charlie hides a first-class thinking cap under his jaunty good humor and engaging personality. Reading widely on many subjects Charlie is able on request to answer and debate almost any questionable topic. Everybody knows him and en- joys to the greatest extent his perpetual wit and free and easy going manner. 12

61044 af 1940 CAROLYN HARDING LEE- Lee Chorus 1, 2, 3, 45 Operetta 1, 2, 3, 45 Librarian 3. Carolyn is that cute little miss from over Hamburg way. She's got an impressive giggle that's disconcerted many a budding scientist and we hear that she's discovered lots of points of interest in Hamburg-other than trees, we mean. Carolyn's proved to us that there certainly is gold in them thar sticks. CLEMMONS W. LIB BY- Tater Prattler 3, 45 Dramatics 25 Soccer Manager 3, 45 Track Manager 35 Class President 45 Senior Play 45 School Play 3, 45 Stage-Manager 35 Hobby Club 15 Student Council 3, 45 Osage Board 45 Traffic Squad 3, 45 One-act Plays 1, 2, 3. Efficiency man around here, manager of most everything, property man for all our plays and president of his class in his Senior year-Tate's pretty much of an asset wherever he goes. His chief passions are playing reporter for the New London Day, and supplying Mrs. Wright with a hero when- ever she wants one for a play. GRACE LITCHFIELD- Gay Chairman Magazine Campaign 45 Prattler 1, 25 Dramatics President 1, 3, 45 School Play 3, 45 Senior Play 45 Pi-Club President 35 Declamations 2, 3, 45 Hockey Squad 1, 2, 35 Letterman 45 Manager Hockey 25 Chairman junior Prom 31 Class Treasurer 2, 35 Class Secretary 45 Osage Board 45 One- act Plays 1, 2, 3, 45 Class History 45 Co-Honor Essay 4. For four years Gay has been steadily making her mark in the annals of Pratt in every way and is an all 'round sport and a conscientious student. This year's class has certainly appreciated that willingness to help and that friendliness to everyone that is so characteristic of Gay. By the way, Gay, we hear that Pratt's loss is to be Middlebury's gain. GLADYS MILLER Chorus 1, 2, 3, 45 Operetta 1, 2, 3, 45 Osage Board 4. With future prospects tending toward secretarial success, Gladys and jane plan to battle the rudiments of stenographic training together. Gladys has plenty of pep-and the place to find her is where excitement reigns. 14 I AS its- , it it R ix is ,,,. . g :R if . e Q K 3- H, wget:- . 5. attwfrf . at 3 -1- ,F 'KEQ5 3:5 125 X 1 .Q A
