Glam ,of 1940 ALMA ROSEMARIE GUIDI Chorus 1, 2, Operetta 1, 2g Homemaking 3, President 4. Quiet and reserved and a good cook, Alma has always been ready to take charge of the refreshment committees. She has also done a great part of the work in the library and to Alma we owe much of the successs of our class. GERTRUDE LOUISE HARDING- Trudy Art Club 1, 2, 3. Trudy is the future famous horsewoman of national renown. Her understanding of animals has emphasized her ability to sympathize with her friends at Pratt. Her good nature which has claimed us for four years becomes more astounding each day. We're sure we'll someday be very much aware of the Harding Stables. MARY PLATT HARRINGTON Field Hockey 13 Basketball 1, 2, 3, Baseball 2, 4, Chorus 1, 2, 3, 4, Operetta 1, 2, 3, 4. Mary's quiet manner and sweet smile are in evidence every day in the school year. She's never in a dither of hot and cold or sweet and sour, but always just Mary. Her loyalty to Pratt need not be asserted, and we are happy to have had her as one of our classmates. CHARLES JOHNSON, JR.- Charlie Science Club lg Photography Club 2, 3, 4. Charlie hides a first-class thinking cap under his jaunty good humor and engaging personality. Reading widely on many subjects Charlie is able on request to answer and debate almost any questionable topic. Everybody knows him and en- joys to the greatest extent his perpetual wit and free and easy going manner. 12

Ros is the A puller downer in our class. And too, Ros has established herself in many extra curricula activities-having been vice-president of her class in her sophomore year and president in .her junior year. As a Senior she managed the hockey squad and worked tirelessly in the leading role of the operetta. Miss Evans and Mrs. Ford will vouch for her effi- ciency. We're sure that someday Ros will find that rainbow she's been looking for. ROYAL E. GRANT- SIits Class President 1, 25 Class Vice-President 3, 45 Hobby Club 1, 25 Track 15 Student Council 1, 25 President 45 School Play 25 Osage Board 45 Sports Club 3, 45 Stage Manager of School Play 3, 45 Baseball Manager 3, 45 One-act play 35 Traffic Squad Captain 45 Stage Manager Senior Play 3, 45 Stage Manager Operetta 35 Marshal 3. Royal is a competent and dependable individual. He is generally serious, but he has his moments, and has proved valuable to the class, both as a four-year officer and business manager of the Osage. Royal is ambitious and even tempered and we prophesy that he will go far in his chosen field. ALICE GERALDINE GRIFFIN- Gerry Basketball Squad 15 Baseball Squad 1, 45 Chorus 1, 25 Op- eretta 15 Prattler 35 Student Council 45 Senior Play 45 Dramatics 4. Gerry's ready wit and charming personality have proved themselves in numerous instances and we have decided that without her the class would have missed a great deal of fun and real entertainment. Her helpful suggestions have been a source of delight and a decided enlightenment as to what can be done with a little imagination. Gerry hopes to be a jour- nalist and with her ability we would say she has practically reached her goal. KATHLEEN ELLEN GRIFFIN- Kate Field Hockey Letterman 1, 2, 35 Captain 45 Baseball 45 Letterman 1, 2, 35 Dramatics 3, 45 Chorus 1, 25 Operetta 25 Osage Board 4. Kate is one of our number 1 athletes with a strong hockey stick and a mind of her own. She has given us much amuse- ment with her jokes and deep chuckle. Lucky is the person who has tasted her cookery. Because of her will to work, Kate will find much success. 11

Elm af 1940 HENRY JOSTEN Track Squad 2, 4, Letterman 3, Basketball Manager 43 Magazine Campaign, Captain 4g Prattler Staff 2, 33 Editor 4, Osage Editor 4. That quiet gentleman in the back row is sure to be Henry. He is the very efhcient editor-in-chief of both the Prattler and the Osage. His feature articles are a wonder to us all and he has shown remarkable ability on the track squad. We are sure your future success will equal that which you have made here, Henry. WILLIAM T. KALINOWSKI- WiIlie Soccer Squad 2g Letterman 3, 45 Basketball Squad 13 Let- terman 2, 3, 4, Track Letterman 1, 2, 3, 4g Class Vice-Presi- dent lg Student Council 2, Senior Play 43 Operetta 4g Sports Club 3g President 43 Model Airplane Club President 1, 25 Traffic Squad 3, 4, Boys' Glee Club 4g School Play 3, 4. The school will greatly miss the athletic ability of Willie, our star pole vaulter. His ready wit, combined with his love of sports, has made him one of the most popular boys of the class. He can hold his own in any argument, provided Johnny isn't around, and he frequently shows himself to be a deter- mined thinker. Good-luck, Kal! JUDITH ELINE KOEHLER- Judy Art Club 1, 2, 3, 45 Baseball 1, 3, 4. Judy's chief interest is art-Art for Art's sake-or so they say. Anyway we've seen definite proof of her talent and her neatness in penmanship will always be a source of delight to us. We hope Judy won't be too sad upon leaving that little Freshman boy we've heard so much about. NANCY ANN LAMPHIER-- HomeIy School Play 2, 3, 4g Dramatics 2, 3, 45 Declarnationg 2, When we speak of Nancy we can't help mentioning Marie- the two girls whose interests lie elsewhere than at Pratt. Nancy has been one of our most prominent actresses, having done a variety of roles equally well. We think Nancy ought to make Broadway her future stamping ground-and who knows, maybe she will! 13
