Dance Club Dance Club had as its main objective to learn new dances such as the Tango, Mambo, and Samba. It met every other Tuesday night in the lounge. Usually there was g good turn-out and throughout the evening everyone enjoyed themselves by relaxing after a busy day with books. Miss Shirley Smith gave her excellent leadership ability as sponsor. On February 21, the Dance Club sponsored an all Juco trip to Wichita to be an Hi-Fi Hop. The Junior College Choir, under the direction of Mr. Floyd Carpenter, performed for several occasions this year. One of the most spectacular was their operetta, Down in the Valley. The group also sang for the Student Congress, the Christmas program and commencement. Several ensembles, made up of members of the choir, kept busy singing for local civic clubs and various other school activities, such as the annual field trip taken each spring. 47
