The second semester of this year, we were very happy to welcome to our college two students from overseas. As a result of the excellent record made last year by our school in providing orientation for Snith Senasuk and Sayan Uthaisri--both now at the University of Illinois, working on their Master's Degree--the Royal Thai Embassy assigned to Pratt Junior College a student for a similar orientation this year, C arintr Sripromma comes to us from a college in the mountains of Northern Thailand, where he teaches forestry. He has already graduated from college, but he wanted to come here to study forestry methods in America. Charintr is here on a government scholarship, which also applies to his family. He is married and has three daughters-aged three, five, and six. After a semester here and one summer of further orientation, he hopes to complete work for a Master's Degree at a. forestry school in Colorado, Feriydoun Nowzari comes to us, at his own expense, from Iran. Feryidoun was recommended to the Dean by Charles Hulac, former Rocky Mountain Retgion Y, M, C, A. secretary, who now is a counselor for the American Friends of the Mid le East in Tehran. Frank, as he is known here at school, is twenty-two years old and has had six years of elementary school and six years of secondary school before coming here to start his freshman year of college. He is studying petroleum engineering. The orientation program for both Frank and Charintr will include sponsorship by Rotary and Lions clubs. On alternate Weeks these clubs invite the students to their meetings. Feriydoun and Charintr can also look forward to being invited into many Pratt homesg being shown the businesses, farms, and oil leases 'in our areag and appearing before many groups with faculty members in panel discussions about Thailand and Iran 4 dnt . Thorpe, John Schrepel, Donald R. Lidikay, Super intendentg Homer Davault, President. On behalf of the students and faculty of Pratt Junior College, we of the annual staff wish to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the Board of Education for the commendable job which they have done in the interest of the students of Pratt Junior College. 6 Q ef! gl To you who are students of Pratt Junior College Congratulations! This year is one of unprecedented growth. The peak enrollment of 250 students challenges the all time record. More important than the larger number of students is the continued high quality of the student body. You have accepted the high standards of work required by competent instructors in sincere and earnest manner. As students in the Pratt col- lege, you are now in possession of expanded information learned in the classroom. Outside the academic gain, you have acquired attitudes and experiences that have enhanced your social knowledge. This fine book will serve to remind you of happy experiences and the many friend- ships which you cherish. It is my sincere wish that success may be your's whether you plan to continue your formal education or enter the world of work. Donald R. Lidikay Superintendent of Schools Aflmini tration It has been a pleasure to be associated with our faculty and student body in our joint efforts this year. For this yearbook and its faithful presentation of the expanding activities of a growing Pratt Junior College, the Beaver staff is to be commended. May the memories that it recalls to be joy to students and faculty as they treasure it down through the years. It is my wish that the studies, the activities and the experiences of this year have contributed to the enrichment of the lives of you all, that you will continue to meet successfully the chal- lenges of the future, and that you will develop far beyond but always remain highly appreciative of Pratt Junior College.
