And men write - filling books with their various and sundry deeds, To inspire, to teach, and to touch the lives of all who will read. But once, perhaps twice in our lifetime, if we are truly and specially blessed, One comes our way, not from the writings of men, but a common one, just doing his best. He comes not as a warrior, a statesman, or a King, Not as one who sets new records, or invents machines. Not even as one who has fought injustices and righted world wrongs, Nor one who has written great books or sung popular hit songs. Just one, who in simplicity, comes to the little space and place that we know, Bringing wonderful laughter, witty answers, special kindness, genuine happiness, anda personal love that makes our lives glow. Glow with an energy that makes us different, a difference we can 't define. But we all experience change - a wonderful, beautiful change in our souls and minds. A change that comes because we have known one so real, so alive, so true, And he left his mark, hard - permanent -, not on the world, but more importantly, on me and on you. Oh, his many deeds probably will never reach men 's books of success and fame, But we, we with the grateful hearts, will remember, and never be the same. - Dr. L.C. Stout lFrom Rev. The Age of Electricity. Providing the power for that histonc lighting demonstration was a Babcock gl Wilcox boiler. Today, Babcock 8t Wilcox continues to design and build some of the most efficient energy systems in America. Fossil and nuclear steam systems that help electric 214 utilities provide power and light for the nation's homes and businesses. Systems that power industry by burning industrial wastes and turning them into usable steam energy. We're continuing to investigate new ways to help America meet its energy needs. Babcock Sr Wilcox engineers are exploring new energy technologies such as solar, magnetohydrodynamics fMHDl, fluidized bed, ocean thermal energy conversion and geothermal energy. For us to continue our work in the future, we'll need teams of educated, talented people dedicated to finding the right solutions to America's energy problems. We encourage you to continue your education, so thai someday we may call upon you to join our team and help us meet the challenge of developing new technology to take care of Americas energy needs.
