Blue Hawaii Homecoming 198 Jill Lowe Coronation ceremonies to crown the 1987 Prairie View Homecoming King and Queen were the feature attractions before the Homecoming football game on Sept. 25. The newly crowned King and Queen were Mr. Chad Allen and Miss Wendy Schaffer. Wendy, a senior, is the daughter of the late Mr. Larry Schaffer and Mrs. Alberta Schaffer from Parker. Chad, from La Cygne and also a senior, is the son of Mr. Bill Allen and Mrs. Linda Hall. 99 Making up the 1987 Homecoming Royalty court were Kim McCorkell, Den- nis Ross, Tammy Boone, Daryl Davis, Stephanie Duke and Matt Teagarden. In order to have been nominated for can- didacy these students must have par- ticipated in either football, volleyball, cross-country, cheerleading, drill team, or band during the fall sports season. It was quite an honor to have been chosen for can- didacy out of the many students par- ticipating in these activities. Many activities took place Homecom- ing week to show our school spirit and prepare for the big event. To show their spirit students dressed up to coordinate with different days of the week. Monday was Raisin Day, Tuesday, Beach Ball ,Dayg Wednesday dazzled the halls as Dress-Up Day, Thursday, the traditional Green and White Day, and Friday, Surfer Day, ended the week on a high wave of spirit. A bonfire pep rally was held Wednes- day night to build morale for the game. The game itself was a huge success as the PV Buffalos downed the Spring Hill Bron- cos 22-21 before a rowdy home crowd. Top- ping off the exciting week and outstanding victory was the Blue Hawaii homecom- ing dance that followed the game. .
