Girls' Basketball A year of change. What else could be said to describe the 1987-1988 girls' basketball season? After some frustrating seasons, the Lady Buffalos got their act together. Even though the season was not what some would consider a winning one in terms of wins and losses, the girls had several high points to remember. Although the varsity girls finished 9-12 with a disappointing loss to Spring Hill at sub-state, overall the girls' pro- gram compiled a vary respectable 30-14 record. The freshman girls ended with a perfect 6-0 record and junior varsity added 15 victories against only 2 losses. In tournament play, the varsity won the Frontenac Tournament while plac- ing Dana Teagarden and Tammy Boone on the all-Tournament team. The J .V. squad won the Prairie-View Jayhawk-Linn Invitational. Teagarden also made the all-Tournament squad at the Trojan Tip-Off. The girls also captured some state honors as Teagarden finished 11th in 4-A rebounding. Boone grabbed first place in 4-A rebounding, as well as first in rebounding average, all classes. She then was chosen all-state honorable mention by the Kansas Sports Magazine. ff GIRLS BASKETBALL: First Row - Cheri Watson, Gail Wright, Missy Hurt, Shanda Roy, Michelle Bell, Arny Boydston and Amy Teagarden.
