Keep the crowd going so they can help inspire the team to victory. Sounds like a simple task. But as the old saying goes, it's easier said than done. Getting the crowd involved is often a very difficult task. A great deal of work, dedication and nervousness all work together to bring about that all important word - spirit. The work began during the summer as cheerleading sponsor Beth Smith took several girls to summer camp. Long days were filled with routine after routine as counselors labored with the cheerleaders to perfect certain skills. The dedication, and work, continued throughout the year as many school morn- ings found the girls in the gym at 7:30 go- ing through their repertoire of cheers. All of this paid off, especially for the athletic teams who reaped the rewards of the enthusiasm inspired by the PV cheer- leaders. Above Right: Fall cheer- leaders take time out during half-time for picture. Right: Getting into the spirit of the first home game of the year are head cheerleader Tammy Boone and Junior Lisa Baker.
