All-Sports Banquet 1. The Prairie View Academy All-Sports Banquet was held Thursday. May 14. 1981. Approximately 300 people were on hand to hear guest speaker Benny Hollis, athletic director and head basketball coach at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe. The banquet was held at the First Baptist Church activities building, after the original site (Morehouse Country Club) was destroyed by an early morning fire. 2. LADY SPARTAN TRACK winners include Amy Clark and Patti Dawson Co-Captains; and Karen Bell — Coach's Award. At left is head track coach Mary Dale Scoggins. 86

Baseball 2. Baseball award recipients were Dirk Lawhon — Best Defensive Player; Nolan Clark — Best Offensive Player; Todd Cheney — Most Valuable Player; Mike McGregor — Most Improved; and Brett Barr — Coach's Award. Head Coach Steve Stroud is pictured at right and at left is assistant coach Roger Whitlock. Basketball 1. Frederick Moeller captured his second top trophy of the night by also being chosen MVP in basketball. Billy Lockwood was a double winner as the Best Offensive Player and Highest Free Throw Percentage Shooter. Nolan Clark was named as the Best Defensive Player. Craig Oliphant received the Leading Rebounder award and the Mr. Hustle award went to Kevin Jackson. Head Coach Jim Clark is pictured at left. 1 2 87
