A s cf cP Renaissance Of Academic Excellence 1878 -1988 110th ANNIVERSARY PRAIRIE VIEW A M UNIVERSITY AMMIVERSARY RENAISSANCE CELEBRATION November 10-13, 1988 The purpose of the Renaissance Celebration was to celebrate the outstanding contributions made by Prairie View A M University over the past I 10 years. All those who made a significant contribution to the university were recognized. The University celebration brought together all of the university's constituents to celebrate the renaissance , with significant events planned to incorporate all of those constituents in the celebration. The focus of the festivities was the dedication of the new $ 16 million library, where a new exhibition on the history of the black military was on display. The significance of the celebration was to increase the public awareness of Prairie View A M University's contributions, to encourage support, and to help the university fulfill its constitutional mandate of becoming an institution of the first class.
