Celebrating The Renaissance With Entertainment CSSIE DAVIS, EIJEy IEEE Bring Explosive Talent To Campus The legendary greats of stage and screen, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, performed in the llobart-Taylor Recital Mall in conjunction with Prairie View’s 110th Anniversary Celebration. The stage on which they performed was decorated with three banners of purple and gold displaying our anniversary theme “Partners in Progress '88: A Renaissance in Academic Excellence”. Placed in front of the banners were two armchairs, a small table and two stands from which the duo read at times. The set was extremely effective in creating a relaxed atmosphere. The audience was mesmerized as they absorbed a thought provoking blend of poetry, prose and dramatic monologues written by some of our most prolific black authors. Denzel Washington Actor Evans Denzel Washington and Actor Evans visited the campus of PV. Among Washington’s film credits are “A Soldier’s Story”, “Cry Freedom” and “The Mighty Quinn”. The Boys Choir of Harlem performed on campus while celebrating their 20th anniversary. They have performed in London, Paris, Tokyo as well as the countries of Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland. Student Life

Rachelle' Collette Fisher Rachelle' is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Fisher, Sr. She is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada. A junior pursuing a degree in architecture, she desires to become a successful lawyer of architecture. Some of her accomplishments include being Miss American Institute of Architecture Students, an All-American Academic Scholar, producing the Miss Black UNLV Pageant, being a member of the Architecture Honors Club, the National Society of Black Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has also received an Outstanding Design Student Award and a competitive scholarship from the College of Engineering. Her hobbies include reading, writing and sports with a special interest in water skiing.
