On the hill There are very few hills in the prairie lands nearing the Gulf coast of Texas. Prairie View A M is situated on the “one in Waller County and because of its uniqueness PV-ites everywhere refer to the campus as “on the hill.” While the elevation is small compared to Texas hill country, the happenings on the hill are mighty big — particularly in 1967. the year we proudly present to you on the pages of this college yearbook. On the hill in '67 were many Top-flight student leaders. outstanding faculty and staff, challenging academic programs, excellent athletic teams, loads of beautiful girls and many (a total of 3632), fine conscientious students. The Year 1966-67 marks the beginning of a new college administration and a new direction toward increased emphasis in the technical fields. “Partners in Progress was the symbol given to signify the increased involvement of the Board of Directors. System officials, alumni, faculty and students in the effort to move the college forward. Many interesting events occurred during the year as the pages of this book will indicate. The staff of the PANTHER LAN I) is proud to record these happenings for you. It is our hope that in the years to come this yearbook will help to recall fond memories of a wonderful year ... on the hill in ‘67. 2
