ADMINISTRATION It was announced early in the year that President E. B. Evans, after 48 years of service to the institution, would retire on August 31, 1966. Many tributes have been paid to Dr. Evans for his untiring support of every possible worthwhile movement projected throughout the state over the years. Several groups have given testimonials this year, and there are still others to come. It is fitting that we, of the yearbook staff, take this occasion to express our appreciation to Dr. Evans for a long and fruitful career. We wish for him many happy years in retirement. THE 1966 PANTHERLAND EXTENDS A SPECIAL SALUTE TO . . . DR. E. B. EVANS THE GOVERNOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS TEXAS A M SYSTEM PRESIDENT PRESIDENT OF THE COLLEGE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS 21

THE PRESIDENT OF THE COLLEGE To the Graduating Seniors--- This year's graduating class will always be of special significance to me, since we are, in one sense, leaving the institution together. As you complete your four years of study at Prairie View, I am about to complete my 48th year at the college, and I look forward with pleasure to retirement. While my life's work is near completion, yours is just beginning. While we both take leave from our respective college roles, we can really never part from dear old Prairie View. I will certainly be looking in and helping whenever I can, and I expect that you will do the same. My deepest congratulations to each of you, and Good Luck on the road that leads ahead.
