Let yourself go dance to the music Students find dancing a way of expressing their inner feel- ings and as a means of re- lease. Dances provided a time not only to dance, but a time to relax and visit with friends. Bands that were featured this year were Yield, Jessica, and King Snake. The kids really un- wound to the loud and exhila- rating music of the Jessica Band on activity day. Yield band played for the dance following Homecoming. Dancing provides a time for letting loose and really swinging. Rene Mendenhall really gets with it at a dance after a football game.

Panther spirit - quality, not quantity?! Pep sessions, a beat up spi- rit stick, and hoarse cheer- leaders and fans make up what is called school spirit. The spirit of PH, floated through the halls sometimes barely visable, often times seen in posters. That Panther Power lurked about waiting to be captured, dreading the cap- tivity by PH fans. The boys show their school spirit by doing their thing , during a girls bas- ketball game. v and it's another touchdown for the Prairie Heights Panthers. The Panther fans jump to their feet as the last few seconds run off the clock. l 18

The Hobbit provides an evening of dance and romance Dancing to the music of Gas, Food, and Lodging adds romance to the even- ing as couples dance away to their hearts content. l Mike Spears, runner-up, crowns Penny Walton, Prom queen, as Sherri Hughes, runner-up, and Greg German, Prom King, look on. 20 The arrival of all the tuxed, formaled, and flowered stu- dents and guests set off the 1973 Jr.-Sr. Prom. When the banquet food showed quick disappearance and finally the end of the dinner, Dr. Ross entertained with hypnotism. He made those willing, be- come four year olds again and even found an Elvis trait in one PH student. The Prom allowed those present to es- cape for awhile to the land of the Hobbits. Mountainous scenery, a waterfall ending with living goldfish, and the band Gas, Food, and Lodg- ing , made the 1973 Prom successful. While hypnotized as Elvis Presley-. Kevin Hoyer really gets it on sing- ing You Ain't Nothin' but a Hound- dog.
