Literature and Tranquility At the present time, approximately four thousand books are shelved or are being processed for use. Many more are requisitioned and will arrive soon. As time goes on, the library will become more and more a part of every student ' s learning experience, as new books, a vertical file and other materials are added.

Our Library = Prairie Heights is justly proud of its spacious beautiful library. It is the realization of Mr. Diehl ' s belief that the library should be the hut of the school, a source of reference for all departments, and a place for study or pleasure reading under ideal conditions. The furnishings and general decor contribute to an atmosphere of dignity and an appreciation for good books, magazines and periodicals, reading which is vital to the education of students in all fields.

Today ' s Student ' s— Tomorrow Homemakers The Home Living Center is designed to provide an atmosphere within which the acquisition of living-dining skills will be more meaningful. Our clothing room provides up-to-date equipment for clothing room construction. This includes modern sewing machines, table space for cutting and assembling garments and pressing equipment to use in making well fitted, attractive garments. It has been said that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and this may be equally true of a homemaking department. Our Five Unit, well-arranged kitchens make meal preparation easier and more enjoyable. Gracious Living A stitch in time saves nine 1 ' Baking cookies for open house.
