PRAIRIE’S PRIDE Hey, we’re from Prairie and we couldn't be prouder. If you can't hear us now, we'll yell a little louder . . . This cheer, so familiar during the foot- ball and basketball seasons, shows the pride of every student in Prairie High. This pride is not in just the school as a place of learning, but also in our sports, organiza- tions, extracurricular activities, and in our students and their achievements, past, present, and future. For four generations Prairie High students have passed this en- thusiasm and pride from student to student. As the first brick school house was built with pride in 1891 by early pioneers, eager for education for their children, so our parents are building our new school, eager for the best in education for us and those who will follow us. It is with satisfaction with the past and anticipation for the future that we edit this last issue of the PRAIRIE PRIDE. Sponsored by ACCOLA AND OSTERFUND 3

Dreams of Many Unfold Construction, curriculum, planning. This has been a busy year at Prairie High. Our long-time dreams of a new Sauk-Prairie School are taking shape. Construction of the new school is well under way, and with it the dreams and hopes of increasing educational opportunities for the students of this district are one step closer to reality. Enrollment in the entire school system this year was approximately 120 more than it was one year ago. Census figures indicate that this increase will continue for a number of years. The new school will provide the needed physical facilities for the students of the immediate future as well as those anticipated for several years hence. There are several modern features such as a language laboratory, educational television, lecture hall-little theatre, four team teaching areas and a complete metals shop contemplated for the new school. Beginning with the fall term of 1964, Sauk- Prairie High School students will be in one building with an opportunity for a wide selection of class offerings in line with their interests and abilities.
