Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me. The Lord replied, My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints in the sand it was then that I carried you. 6 CHIEFS... 7 Mr Mulrooney. His family consists of two sisters, a step-sister, and half-brother. Sebastian's father is a successful CPA, and his mother is a prominent fashion saleswoman He was motivated to become a foreign exchange student because of his interest in a career as an international businessman. He had hoped to go to a large metropolitian area, since he is from a larger city, but he had to accept whatever was offered Sebastian's impressions of P.H students is that they are more impulsive, spontaneous, and sports-oriented than the French teenagers. The French teenagers have more liberties and parents are not so strict. French teenagers enjoy clothes and going out to discos or cafes. Sebastian feels that our democratic system of government is better, because of our economy, than the socialist form of government which France has He feels Europe should emulate the United States government. Sebastian was grateful to have the opportunity to study in America. He expected Americans to be more exciting and isn't sure that we have as much fun as he does back home. 56 We at Prairie High School are richer for having had Sebastian in our school. We wish him well in his future endeavors. Fla. — January 28.1986 Space shuttle Challenger exploded into a gigantic fireball moments after liftoff, killing all seven crew members, including schoolteacher Christa McAuliffe The $1.2 billion spacecraft was destroyed. It was the first in-the-air disaster in 56 US. man-m-space missions, although three astronauts were killed in a 1967 launch pad explosion during the Apollo program, i After a series of weather and technical delays, the shuttle rose spectacularly off the launch pad at 11:38 A M. EST and was climbing smoothly when suddenly it erupted in a huge fireball and shot out of control. The explosion was a devastating setback for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration after successfully carrying out 24 space shuttle missions in slightly less than five years. There were seven crew members aboard, including McAuliffe. a 37-year-old New Hampshire teacher | selected as America’s first citizen in space NASA said the explosion occurred about 60 seconds into the mission, at a point when the astronauts were 1 beginning to throttle their engines up to maximum thrust after they throttled them down to a 60 percent level at 35 seconds in order to reduce the forces of gravity during liftoff. All 1,200 students at McAuliffe's Concord High School were cheering the televised launch when a teacher yelled for them to be silent because something appeared to be wrong. As it became clear there was an explosion, stunned , students murmured This can't be real... We can’t be watching this. Ill WARRIORS... 112 CLASS OF ‘86 Aimee Althof Favorite Saying: Good deal!
