Our class also contributed valuable talent to the athletic teams and other organizations. Looking forward to future activities, we staged several money making projects to provide needed funds. We put much work into collecting a huge bonfire, which proved to be the best in the history of PHS. As basketball season opened, we were proud to have eight members of our class on the A-Squad team along with one manager. To raise money for the forthcoming prom, our class sold maroon and white shields with a Blackhawk Indian. Spring filled our heads with thoughts of the Junior Prom, our biggest and best project of the year. HOMEROOM I BOTTOM ROW: B. Bushnell, B. Edwards, C. George, B. Brown, K. Hubbard, P. Ahrens, S. A feeling of victory was expressed in the colorful floats prepared by the students. The juniors DEFEATED the other classes in the float division. The enthusiasm displayed by the students homecoming week was perhaps the vital factor that helped to attain a victory over Muscoda. Many hours were spent preparing skits and decorating the windows and floats. The seniors very nicely prepared the gym for the Homecoming Dance. The juniors made arrangements for the parade and the sophomores decorated the field and halls of the senior high school. The winning slogan submitted by Sue Gaulke was We mus-co-da and Night. King Te;rry Kramer and Queen joan Slaght reigned over the events. On the Queen's court were Mary Mezera, Doris Hamann, Gloria Cooper and Nancy Wolfgram. Roger Boom added a spark of enthusiasm to the bonfire. The membership consisted of 40 members--20 seniors and 20 juniors. All students must maintain a B average thus making them a member of the high honors or honor roll. Mike Schultz explains the meaning of character at the induction ceremonies. m SENIORS dm ofr 1966 SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS - -Nancy Wolfgram, Secretary-Treasurer; MaryAnn Schmidt, President; Bradley Kaufman, Vice-President; Mr. Rheineck, Advisor. Motto--In youth we learn. In age we understand. Flower--White Rose Colors--Emerald Green and White. Our freshman year was spent in the old high school amid crowded classrooms and much confusion. The officers were Darlene Mechler, President; Marla Kramer, Vice-President; and Joan Slaght, Secretary-Treasurer. Our float for homecoming received Honorable Mention and our window brought in third place. We sponsored a dance after a basketball game and staged several other money-making projects. As sophomores in the new high school, we were again the youngest class in the school. Our officers this year were Carol Lee, President; David Dickinson, Vice-President; and Chuck Shedivy, Secretary-Treasurer. We spent countless hours decorating the school for homecoming and working on our other important projects. At the end of the year we selected a traditional class ring which will be worn by all succeeding classes of Prairie High. Feeling definitely more secure, we entered our junior year full of confidence. Our elected officers were Terry Kramer, President; Gene Imrham. Vice-President: and Chris Howe. Secretary-Treasurer Gloria Barrette Delores Becwar Patricia Becwar Our float and window brought in second places at homecoming and we received our class rings at this time. Our Junior Prom was called Dutch Shoe Ball. Gloria Cooper and Terry Kramer led the grand march to the music of the Chanteurs. At the end of the year we enjoyed a day at Wyalusing State Park and also received the caps and gowns of the seniors at the Baccalaureate Exercises. In September 1965 our senior year began. We eagerly took over the job of being the oldest class and leading the school activities. Our class officers for this last year were Mary Schmidt, President; Brad Kaufman, Vice-President; and Nancy Wolfgram, Secretary-Treasurer. Homecoming was most successful as we received second place for our float and first for our window. We decorated the gym for the dance at which Joan Slaght and Terry Kramer reigned as queen and king. Nancy Wolfgram, Doris Hamann, Mary Mezera, and Gloria Cooper made up the queen's royal court. This year we were concerned with selecting a college or vocation and making plans for the future. Our last project was the commencement exercises at which we said our last goodbyes to Prairie High.
