The 1955-'56 school year opened with 57 students registering for senior band. The season began with marching and playing tunes for halt'- time entertainment at football games. .Xt this time lNIr. Todd also began to prepare the band for the annual mid-winter concert. Sel- ections were played ranging from In .X Persian blarketu to Three Little Pigs . A pep band was formed to entertain during the basketball season and popular and old time tunes added color and gaiety to the games. The junior band had an enrollment of 67. Prairie was host to the solo and ensemble contest on blarch 23 and the contest for bands on Nlay 5. Contest numbers were Dance of The Hours , El Capitanu and Allerseelen. Sixty-one new uniforms were purchased this year which are French blue with maroon and white trim. Five majorette uniforms were also acquired, two are white with maroon trim and three are black with white and maroon trim.
