Senior Class. Prophecy It's 1967, the rock and roll craze has gotten out of hand. The latest thing for the krazy kats is a rock 'n roll wedding. Such was the bash that awakened me on the 32nd of Iune, 1967 . It was a real George dim for such a gig, in other words, a gasser. Being a quiet church mouse this sort of hassle disturbed me to no end. Louise French was becoming the bride of Kenny Cowman. The most Reverend Irv Van Haaften officiated at the triple- ring flashlight ceremony. The bride was a real cute kitten in her pink and black plaid skirt which fell in a sweep of pleats, her skirt and black turtle-neck sweater were designed by Mi Mi KMarceneD Van Wyk, the foremost French fashion designer and originator of the floppy look. Only the bride's knees peeked out from above her pink and black argyle Bermuda sox. Bob shoes and beanie completed her outfit. Pink violets and pink spebbie feathers encircled her foot-long pony tail. The groomsmen were attired in the Elvis Look. Ioyce Lourens, the former Ioyce Roorda, was matron of honor. Janice Harmison was flower girl, and Larry Stravers was ring bearer. Dale CMoon-Mani Moomaw with his Rock 'N Roll Comets played appropriate jazz preceding the ceremony. The wedding processional was Rudy's Rock. Maxine Van Wyk, the famous Metropolitan Opera star, sang Crazy 'Bout You Baby and You Don't Know Me. The reception was held immediately following the hitching party. Dorothy Smits was hostess, and Bill Schlosser mixed and sampled all drinks and served as toastmaster. Entertainment was provided by the world renowned Iitterbug Trio of Lorena Van Peursem, Carolyn Roorda, and Loretta Cline---and boppers Janet Wilson and Ierald Snellar, winners of the International BOP Contest. The bride and groom spent their honeymoon at Lake Ticonderroga where they had met and fallen in ------ love, that is. The bride and groom were both grads of Prairie City High, Class of '57. The groom recently completed extensive post-graduate work at the University of Monroe and is now employed by the Prairie City Sewage Department. The bride and groom were hosts at a bridal dinner party held at Plumpy's Steak' House, owned and operated by Dale Van Maanen. I hitch-hiked to the party well concealed by the feathers on Mi Mi Van Wyk's hat. It was a real tall ball except for a minor accident when Sadie for to all cubes, Linda Sandyj, the waitress, slipped up and slopped the soup all over the dance floor. Clean Sweep Stevens, the janitor, had to be called from his broom closet to mop up the mess. Out of town guests at the festivities included such celebrities as Lynn Cabbage, Olympic miler: Gene Koder, pro football player: and Arlys Tidball, sword swallower just returned from special training in Burma. They were transported from the airport in Leland Bos' 1902 Sussex. Pictures of the commotion were taken by the famous photographer Ramona Gulling. I hereby declare on this 32nd day of June, 19 67, that the above is a complete and accurate account of a rock 'n roll wedding. Signed, Mortimer Mouse P. S. Daffynitions for the Cubes: Kat - Oh, you know Gasser -- Pleasing, to say the least Bash -- a ball that got out of control Hassle -- A troublesome, disturbing George -- great occurrence, that is to say. . . Dim -- P. m. A Mass Gig -- affair Kitten -- A young chick Cube -- A 3-D Square
