Life's Uncertain Trail .For a long time we have known that some day we would reach the end of the trail that has, for the last four years, led us through P, C, H, S,, and alone we would begin our search for new frontiers to conquer, Since the time that we first entered high school our travels have been safe and pro- tected ones, with fun and good times making the weeks of work pass quickly, From the time that we as tenderfeet joined the caravan, which has taken us on a trail of quick moving events, our way has been guided by various outposts that warned us of the dangers that we were likely to encounter, The trading posts, now bringing back brightly painted memories, seemed strong and stable as we stopped at them to work or play, By the next year we had established our claim and had become accus- tomed to the rapid events of our school in which we ourselves began to take a more active part, We came to expect the various side trails which tem- porarily led us from our main course, but which also drew interesting bits of enjoyment into our journey, Finally we had advanced to the front of the wagon train -- the place where we felt that the real high school living would take place, It was then that we decided that the rules of the plains that we were learning would really be important later on, We laughed at the strange pieces of sagebrush which we passed by, but the seriousness of the remainder of the trip became more apparent, and we started making more definite plans for the main lap of the trip, We have now come to the bend in the road, What has gone before is still in sight, but the dangers and pitfalls on the other side of the turn will be sighted only as we come to them, No longer will we have these guides in making our plans and meeting our problems, In the future it will be nec- essary to do so by ourselves, but perhaps, by keeping in mind the experience that we picked up during our school days we will be able to journey smoothly on L.ife's Uncertain Trail, oi' .l Q' ,mi--. fif' 14
